Language notes:
1. Jenny passes him her card.詹妮递给他她的贺卡。
1) Pass sb. sth.= 意为“把某物递给某人”
2) pass作 词,还表示“ ”,相当于go past, walk past或go by。
在英语中,某些及物动词可跟双宾语这一类动词有:bring, give, pass, tell, show, read, leave, teach, buy, make, get, sing等。
2. Best wishes to you on your thirteenth birthday.
最美好的祝福送给你的第十三个生日。
wish作 词,表示“希望,愿望”,用作复数 ,表示“祝愿,好意”。向人表达
祝愿时用to;向节日致意时用for。
Eg:Best wishes to you!美好的祝愿送给你!
【辨析】wish与hope的区别
wish wish表示的愿望较难实现或根本不可能实现,因此that从句中一般用虚拟语气,wish作动词表示“希望”,常用三个结构: (1) (2) wish sb. to do sth.(3) wish+that从句。
hope 后面既可跟动词不定式作宾语,又可跟宾语从句,宾语从句一般用将来时表达一种可以实现或能够达到的“希望”,但不能用

【辨析】yet与already的区别
yet 用于现在完成时中,表示“已经,还,仍然”;只用于 句和 句中,常常放于句 。Notyet.用作简单回答,表示还没有。
already 用于现在完成时中,表示“已经”,常用于 句中,可位于句中,也可放句末。
1) She hasn’t finished the work . 她还没有完成这个工作。
2) I’ve been to Shanghai twice. 我已经去过上海两次了。
4. Remember me when you wear my gift!
当你穿我送的礼物时,要记得我。
【辨析】put on, wear, be in, dress
1) put on指“穿、带”,强调 。
2)wear动词,表示“穿着,戴着”, 和be in都强调 ,后接表示衣服或颜色的词。
3) dress作动词,意为“给……穿衣服”,后常接表示 的名词、代词或反身代词。
