This year we are training more carefully.
【教学目标】
1. 语言知识:通过自主学习掌握本单元基本的单词、短语和句子,能够根据汉语及音标写出单词。
2. 语言技能:能读懂关于体育的文章;能自己描述体育运动,能用形容词和副
词进行修饰;能用所给信息写关于运动的文章。
3. 学习策略:积极运用所学英语进行表达和交流。
4. 情感态度:热爱运动,激发自己运动的兴趣。
5. 文化意识:热爱运动,激发自己运动的兴趣,了解不同国家的体育文化。
【教学重难点】
1. 能自己描述体育运动,能用形容词和副词进行修饰。
2. 能用所给信息写关于运动的文章。

【教学过程】
新课导入:
Look and say:
1. Football is more exciting than basketball.
2. Baseball is more interesting than Tennis.
3. Listening to music is more relaxing than watching films.
4. Volleyball is more boring than table tennis.
新课讲授:
1 Work in pairs. Talk about the pictures. Use the words and expressions in the box to help you.
Read the passage and find out the main idea.
The passage is about ____________.
A. A football match.
B. The weather which is a little bad.

2 Read the passage and complete the table.
Language points:
I am in our school team and we are going to play against another school next week.
against 【prep.】
①(在比赛或战斗中)对(某人或某事物) 常用于play, fight等动词之后。
e.g. Our school team played against NO. 3 Middle School yesterday.
②倚;靠;碰,撞;逆着;反对
e.g. The bookshelf is against the wall.
2. We all arrive as early as we can so that we have time to warm up.
(1) 辨析:arrive, reach与get
arrive 不及物动词 接at用于较小的地点名词前,如村庄、家、学校、车站等
接in用于较大的地点名词前,如国家、城市等
reach 及物动词 后直接跟地点名词,为正式用语
get 不及物动词 接to后再接地点名词,为非正式用语
e.g. My father arrived in Beijing yesterday morning.
I’ll arrive at the airport soon.
He can reach his school by bike. He can get to his school by bike.
(2) so that
①以便;为了
引导目的状语从句,常和in order that引导的从句或in order to do sth.进行转换。
e.g. He got up early so that he could get to school on time.
=He got up early in order that he could get to school on time.
=He got up early in order to get to school on time.
②结果;因此 引导结果状语从句,从句前可用逗号与主句分开。
e.g. It rained heavily, so that we had to stay at home.
(3) warm up 热身;做准备活动
①warm 【动词】使暖和;使温暖
e.g. Warm yourself by the fire.
②warm 【形容词】温暖的;温和的
e.g. You can keep warm by setting fire.
3. We are training harder than usual because the other team beat us last year.
(1) train
①【不及物动词】 (体育)训练,操练
e.g. He is training hard.
②【及物动词】训练
e.g. They train cattle to do the farm work for them.
③【可数名词】火车
e.g. I often go travelling by train.
(2) 辨析:beat和win
beat 打败;战胜 宾语是人或战队、组等
win 获胜;赢得 宾语是比赛、奖品等
e.g. We beat them in last week’s football match.
=We won the first prize in last week’s football match.
4. Our coach is pleased because we are playing better as a team now.
pleased 【形容词】开心的;满足的
①be pleased with ... 对……满意
e.g. My parents are pleased with my behaviors.
②be pleased to do sth. 乐意做某事
e.g. I am pleased to help people in trouble.
5. Last year we were sometimes careless when we passed the ball and we lost to the other team in the final match.
(1) careless 【形容词】粗心的;疏忽的
e.g. He was so careless that he fell his bike yesterday.
拓展:
①-less是一个否定后缀,表示“不具有”或者“没有……特征的”,跟在名词之后构成形容词。
e.g. help—helpless use—useless home—homeless
②carelessly 【副词】粗心地
The boy made the mistakes carelessly.
(2) pass 【及物动词】传递;传送
pass sb. sth.=pass sth. to sb. 把某物传递给某人
e.g. Can you pass me the book = Can you pass the book to me
6. What a pity!
(1) What a pity! 常用于口语交际中,对未做成某事表示惋惜或遗憾。
e.g. — I failed the math exam. —What a pity!
(2) pity 【名词】可惜;遗憾
①It’s a pity that从句 ……真是可惜/遗憾
e.g. It’s a pity that I failed the exam.
②It’s a pity to do sth. 做某事真是可惜/遗憾
e.g. It’s a pity to waste the food.
7. That means we have a better chance of winning.
chance 【名词】可能性;机会
have a chance of doing sth. 有做某事的可能/机会
have a chance to do sth. 有机会做某事
e.g. I want to have a chance of getting this job.
拓展:by chance 偶然地、意外地
e.g. I got this job by chance.
8. They cheer us on loudly and we feel more confident to win the game.
(1) cheer ... on 用欢呼声激励;为……加油
e.g. Let’s cheer our favourite team on.
拓展:cheer (sb.) up (使)(某人)振作起来/高兴起来
e.g. We all tried to cheer them up.
(2) confident 【形容词】自信的
①be/feel confident to do sth. 有信心做某事
e.g. He feels confident to finish his tasks well.
②be/feel confident of sth. 对……充满自信
e.g. He feels confident of his performance.
③be/feel confident that ... 确信……
e.g. He feels confident that he will win the football match.

本节课通过形容词比较级的练习,复习前一节课学习的知识:多音节形容词和副词的比较级,让学生对本单元的知识重点有所了解,然后通过阅读对课文内容进行了解分析,对于知识点的讲解也比较细化,学生接受起来较容易,可以让学生在学生过程中消化得更加细致彻底。
