1 We like them in the same way that we like pretty curtain material.
我们喜欢它们如同喜欢美丽的窗帘布料一样。
in the same way that表示“就象,与…同样地,用 同样的方式”等意义,that后只能跟从句,不能跟名词;that有时可以由as来代替:
I like movies in the same way that you like books.
我喜欢电影,就像你喜欢书一样。
I clean it quickly in the same way as you asked me.
我按照你要求的样子,很快就清洗了它。
I like go shopping the same way that you like dancing.
我喜欢购物就像你喜欢跳舞一样。
2 Better than anyone else. 比任何人都强。
else只用于某些结构中,既可作形容词,又可作副词,始终要放在它所修饰的词之后。
1) 与something, anything, nothing, someone, somebody 这类不定代词连用,
He had nothing else to do except to return to his hot room.他没有别的事可做除了回到他温暖的房间。
Everything else depends on that.别的一切都依赖它。
She mustn’t learn this from someone else.
她不能跟别人学这个。
Everyone else but me has gone to the party.
除了我别人都去参加晚会了。
2) 与who, what, how, where代词或疑问副词连用,但不能与which, when和why等连用。
Who else is there in the house 房子里还有别人吗?
What else would you like to buy
你还想买别的什么吗?
3) 后面可跟’s
I’ve taken somebody else’s hat. 我拿了别人的帽子。
4)词组or else否则,要不然
You must go there quickly or else you will not be back in time. 你必须快点去那里,否则你不能及时回来。

②引导让步状语从句,意为“不管,无论”。

③用在介词后,意为“不管,无论”。如
I haven’t settled the question of whether I’ll go back home. 我是否回家,还没有定。

3相关词组
