first broadcast of our brand new show, Hot Hits and Super Sounds.
Every Friday at 12 noon we’ll be playing music and sharing music

I remember getting ready for school one morning when the radio presenter电台主持人 announced宣布that he was going to play the latest single最新单曲 by the Beatles披头士乐队. It was definitely绝对地 the Beatles. Paul McCartney's voice was unmistakable确定无疑的but the sound was different. When the song had finished, I stood not knowing whether I liked it or not. Once that happened, I knew I would love the song forever. Michael Jackson: King of Pop
One of the main reasons why Michael Jackson became my favourite singer is his lifelong devotion to his music. At an early age, Michael recorded his first music album with his family band called the Jackson 5. That was in the 1960s and it was just the beginning for the “King of Pop”. At the age of thirteen, he began his journey to becoming a world-famous solo artist with a career of almost forty years.
As Michael developed over the years as a person, so did his music. He covered a wide range of music types and gained generations of fans. His stylish dance moves and unconventional fashion sense also influenced his music and fans greatly. Those who grew up with his music, like my parents, were overjoyed whenever his next album was released, because they knew it would set the next trend. His most successful album, Thriller, was released in 1982 and worldwide, is still the bestselling album of all time. It includes the popular songs “Billie Jean”, “Beat It” and of course “Thriller”. Besides his entertaining songs, I like Michael Jackson because his music and style are genuinely original and timeless.
I remember the first time when I heard his music. I was six years old and playing in my room when I heard the first drum beats of “Beat It”. I ran into the living room and heard my parents singing at the top of their voices, and they were doing a strange dance: the moonwalk. I still recall feeling amazed and delighted when I heard Jackson’s one-of-a-kind voice: the pleasant tone and catchy signature sounds he is famous for. Singing and dancing to Michael’s songs became a fun family tradition. Ever since then, if I am feeling lonely or upset, his music has come to my rescue and turned my frown upside down. That is the power of the King of Pop.
My favorite song is “Faded” composed by Alan Walker. I heard it for the first time about four years ago. At that time, I was a voluntary Chinese teacher in Cambodia. When I was preparing the table for lunch, my roommate introduced me to this piece of music. As soon as the voice reached my ears, I can’t help but tremble (颤抖) with delight. It seemed that every musical note had touched my skin. It has accompanied me throughout my hard times. Whenever I feel depressing, the melody could always cheer me up. Besides, it always reminds me of the happy memories in another country with a group of friends.

第四档:(10-12分) 能写明全部或绝大部分要点;语言有少量错误,行文不够连贯;表达基本清楚;
第三档:(7-9分) 能写明基本要点;语言虽有较多错误,但能基本达意;
第二档:(4--6分) 能写出部分要点;语言错误多;影响意思表达;
第一档:(1--3分) 只能写出一两个要点;语言错误很多,只有个别句子正确。
