The Mid-Autumn Festival in China
As a country with a long history, China also has many traditional festivals, such as the Spring Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival and so on. The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important. It falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. The Mid-Autumn Festival is enjoyable for Chinese, because it is a time for families to have a family reunion(团圆) by having a big family meal and admiring the full moon together. At the same time, families will prepare a lot of delicious food for this special day like the main dish--mooncakes, fruits and other desserts, because they see it as a time to give thanks for food in the autumn and everything people enjoy in life. More importantly, they share their wishes and show their love to each other.
