Nowadays, more and more Chinese people know about Western festivals like Christmas and Mother's Day. According to a survey among 200 people on the Internet, 63 percent of the people celebrate Christmas. 124 people buy roses and chocolate on Valentine's Day. 59% and 53% of the people tell their parents they love them on Mother's Day and Father's Day.
As for me, I also celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day, because they give me a chance to express my thanks to my parents. But for other festivals, like Christmas and Halloween, we can just learn and understand them, but not celebrate them, because these festivals are based on Western culture which is very different from ours. As Chinese, we should develop our culture and celebrate traditional festivals. And more importantly, it's our duty to pass on our culture and traditions to the next generation.
