At last, the whole class act out the dialogue like this: Several boys will be asked to stand up to imitate riding a bike while others say,“There boy(s) on the bike. ” For example, while students say,“There are two boys on the bike”,two boys should stand up to imitate riding a bike(I will choose the relevant boys and tell them what each of them should do in advance).
Purpose: To further practice “There is…” and “There are…” as well as helping students to distinguish the distinction between the signal form and plural form of “There be…”.
2. Learning new words in activity 2
Firstly, students try to read the dialogue by themselves in activity (P41) and underline the new words. Secondly, I will play the video for them to catch the pronounce of the four new words:fruit, chicken, pig, bear. Thirdly, I will teach the new words one by one with PPT. Lastly, we will play a word game on the teaching CD to consolidate the new words.
Purpose: To offer the chance for students to try to catch the pronunciation of the new words and learn by themselves first.

① Students listen and watch the video of activity for three times. In the first time, they should just listen and watch the video.
Purpose: Let students get a general idea of the text.
② In the second time, I will play the video sentences by sentences and have the students repeat the sentence. After repeating each sentence, I will lead students to translate the sentence they’ve just read.
Purpose: Teach the text in details so students can get a further understand of the text.
③ In the third time, I will play the video without pause and students read after the video to imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
Purpose: Let students intimate the intonation and the tone of the sentences as well as to know more about the emotion of the text.
