Analysis of the Teaching Material 本节课是一节听说课。首先通过节日图片向学生呈现国外的传统节日一Halloween,回忆节日的名称以及与节日有关的文化专属用语，并引入相关短语。因这是本单元第四课时，在前三课时的基础上语言运用难度有提高，课堂任务应该追求语言学习的实践和应用能力的提升。
Analysis of the Students 通过本单元前两课的学习，学生进一步掌握了中国传统节日的专属用语。而且对于本课时的学习内容Halloween,大部分学生已经有了一定的了解，而且中外节日是学生比较感兴趣的话题，这是学习本课的优势。教师可以鼓励同学通过阅读、查阅相关书籍或网络信息了解西方节日文化，减轻因背景文化积累不足可能带来的学习压力。
Analysis of Teaching Objectives Language ability 能够与同伴谈论对万圣节的看法以及庆祝节日的活动；
Learningability 通过关于庆祝万圣节的听力理解和谈论万圣节相关的庆祝活动，培养听、说能力。
Thinking quality 通过万圣节活动庆祝的活动，思考万圣节对于外国在生活上的寓意，思考我们是否应该庆祝外国的节日；
Cultural awareness 通过对万圣节的看法以及庆祝节日的讨论，认识到中英文化上的共同之处和不同点；
Teaching Points 1.重点：在听的过程中准确处理和获取信息，能就所听内容进行会话交流。2.难点：通过交流表达和听力训练，引导学生通过对西方节日的了解，体会西方节日的乐趣。

Do you know why Let’s go ahead, you will get it. First of all, we need to learn some new words. 思考问题，回答问题。 用贴近生活的导入引起学生兴趣以及参与的兴致。
Step2Lead-in Show some pictures or songs of some Chinese festivals (the Spring Festival，the Mid－Autumn Festival，the Lantern Festival，the Dragon Boat Festival) and foreign festivals (Thanksgiving Day，April Fool's Day，Christmas，Halloween) to play a guessing game.Then ask some students to tell the dates of the four foreign festivals. 根据图片，思考问题，回答问题 通过guessing game，即让学生看图或者听歌猜中外节日，活跃课堂气氛，激发学生的学习兴趣。
Step3Pre-listening Ask students to look at pictures and words related to Halloween in 1a.Teacher：Look at the picture, If you go to the Amusement Park, where do you want to go？Students：haunted house.Teacher：Really？It’s terrible. How to pronounce？Pay attention to the tone. Students：[ h nt d]Teacher：So how to spell “haunted”.Teacher：haunStudents：[h n]Teacher：tedStudents：[t d]Teacher：Read them together. （or circle the words with a finger.）Students：haunted.(Play the word audio)Teacher：Follow it.Students：haunted.Teacher：It’s an adjective, does it have cousins？Students：Yes. Teacher：Great. haunt, a verb. The next word.Who want to try to pronounce the words.You can get one point.Step 2：What can you learn from these new word Students: ... 根据老师的指令学习单词。 通过学习与万圣节相关的词汇，可以扫除下面听力中的新单词障碍，降低听力难度，也为下面关于万圣节文化的学习做好铺垫。
Step4While-listening Work on 1ab & 1c1b：Listening skill：pay attention to the key words(1)Play the tape for the first time.Ask the students to master the whole conversation.Then answer the questions in 1b.(2)Discuss the questions and check the answers.1c：(1)Scan these sentences with blanks.(2)Play the recording again.Remind them of the details.Students fill in the blanks.(3)Play the recording for the third time and check the answers.Read aloud the sentences. 完成1b&1c听力练习。 让学生加深对万圣节活动的记忆，增强教学的实效性，也为后面“说”的练习做好铺垫。
Step5Post-Listening I Point the phrasesAsk students how many phrases they can remember.Ask the other students to check the answer.Expand the more phrases.Read the phrases together. 合上课本，根据以上学过的内容根据中文提示回答出任意短语的英文。 检测短语习得情况；加深短语印象。
Step6Post-Listening II Pair work(1d)Think about the Halloween activities that interest you most.Discuss what you have learned with a partner.(Ask students to discuss the Halloween activities with partners and make a conversation.) 结对操练对话。 这个环节能够让学生回顾所学的有关于万圣节的知识并将其以对话的方式进行语言输出，也能够提高学生口语表达能力。
Step7Post-Listening III 　Group work1．Discuss in groups and create a mind map about Halloween.2．Make a report like this：Halloween is a popular festival in North America… 小组合作完成报告。 这个环节能使学生与他人沟通，合作完成任务，在口头表达中进行适当的自我修正。
Step8Summary Summarize the grammar（3mins）Summarize the key points.Summarize the phrasesSummarize the sentences 回顾和总结本节课所学的单词、短语、句子。 强调重点单词、短语、句子；用奖励鼓励学生主动学习。
