宾语从句
在复合句中,由一个句子充当宾语,这个句子叫做宾语从句。

that 引导的宾语从句
当谓语动词表示肯定的概念,如“希望、相信、知道、说”时,其后面的句子一般用that引导。that没有任何词汇含义,只有语法功能,目的是使读者清楚后面的句子是宾语从句。多数情况下that可以省略。
I hope (that) it will snow this winter.
Betty thinks (that) trees can improve the air quality.
I know (that) he is friendly.
that不可省略的情况。
句中有两个或两个以上由that引导的宾语从句,只有第一个that可以省略
当it用作形式宾语代替that引导的宾语从句时
当宾语从句是双宾语中的直接宾语时
Kevin said (that) the book was very interesting and that all the children liked to read it.
He thinks it important that we try to do some housework after school.
Jack told me that he would put some signs on the envelope.
if/whether 引导的宾语从句
(1)由whether/if引导的宾语从句,实际上是由一般疑问句演变而来的。常用来表达不确定的概念,可以翻译为“是否”宾语从句用陈述句语序(主语+ 谓语+其他成分)。
I don’t know.../ Is the girl in red Jenny
→I don’t know whether/if the girl in red is Jenny.
我不知道穿红衣服那个女孩是否是Jenny。
(2)if或whether引导宾语从句时,作“是否”讲,一般情况下,两者常可换用。
只用whether
在动词不定式之前只能用whether
在 whether … or not 的固定搭配中
在介词后只能用whether
宾语从句放在句首表示强调时
I can’t decide whether to leave.
I want to know whether it’s good news or not .
I worry about whether I hurt her feelings.
Whether it is true or not, I can’t tell.
宾语从句的时态取决于主句的时态
主句使用现在时,从句可根据语境确定需要的时态;主句使用一般过去时,从句除表示“真理”可使用现在时态外,其余相应地使用过去的某种时态。
I think (that) you are right.

宾语从句的时态

(1) What + a/an + 形容词 + 可数名词单数(+ 主语 + 谓语)!
e.g. What an interesting story it is!
(2) What + 形容词 + 可数名词复数或不可数名词(+ 主语 + 谓语)!
e.g. What exciting news!
多么有趣的一个故事啊!
多么令人兴奋的消息!
感叹句是用来表示人的喜怒哀乐等情感,通常用what或how来引导。
how引导的感叹句的结构为:
How + adj. /adv.(+ 主语+ 谓语)!
e.g. How hard they are studying!
How + adj. + a/an + 可数名词单数(+ 主语+ 谓语)!
e.g. How interesting a story it is!
How + 主语+ 谓语
e.g. How time flies!
他们学习多么努力!

表感叹时,how与形容词、副词连用;what与名词连用。
