I arrived in Penang in Malaysia this morning with my family. It was sunny and hot, so we decided to go to the beach near our hotel. My sister and I tried paragliding. I felt like I was a bird. It was so exciting! For lunch, we had something very special—Malaysian yellow noodles. They were delicious! In the afternoon, we rode bicycles to Georgetown. There are a lot of new buildings now, but many of the old buildings are still there. In Weld Quay, a really old place in Georgetown, we saw the houses of the Chinese traders from 100 years ago. I wonder what life was like here in the past. I really enjoyed walking around the town.

3)当arrive in/at后接home/here/there时,介词in/at须省略。如:arrive home到家;arrive here/there到达这儿/那儿

try此处用作及物动词，意为“尝试；设法；努力”，其后常接名词、代词、动词的-ing形式或动词不定式。She is trying my bicycle.她正在试骑我的自行车。
辨析：try doing sth.与try to do sth.
I tried calling him, but no one answered.
我试着给他打电话了，但没有人接听。
I’m trying to learn English well.我正努力把英语学好。
try doing sth. 尝试着做某事 表示一种尝试、做做看的 想法，不一定付出很多努力
try to do sth. 努力/设法做某事 表示想办法要把事情办成，强调付出一定的努力设法去完成
5. I feel like I was a bird.__________________________ feel like+从句 意为“觉得好像是……”
e.g. 我感觉好像是倘佯在历史的长河中。
I feel like I’m walking through the history.
[拓展]feel like的其他用法：
① feel like + 名词或代词意为“觉得好像”
感觉天好像很快就要下雨了。 It feels like rain soon.
② feel like + 动名词意为“想做……”

6. I wonder what life was like here in the past.

wonder vt. 想知道，琢磨
vi. 惊奇，惊讶，后面常跟介词at
n. 奇迹，奇观(可数)； 惊讶，惊叹(不可数)
e.g. I wonder why they didn’t come.

What a difference a day makes! My father and I decided to go to Penang Hill today. We wanted to walk up to the top, but then it started raining a little so we decided to take the train. We waited over an hour for the train because there were too many people. When we got to the top, it was raining really hard. We didn’t have an umbrella so we were wet and cold. It was terrible! And because of the bad weather, we couldn’t see anything below. My father didn’t bring enough money, so we only had one bowl of rice and some fish. The food tasted great because I was so hungry!

这是一个就名词进行的感叹句。
英语中就名词感叹时应用what引导感叹句，用“what+名词”结构。
由what引导的感叹部分往往置于句首，其余内容后置。
e.g. What terrible weather it is!
=What a bad day it is! 多么糟糕的天啊！
What lovely flowers! 多么可爱的花呀！

感叹句的两种结构

What + a/an + 形容词 + 可数名词单数 + 主语 + 谓语！

感叹句的两种结构
