These English-speaking countries are all over the world.
Some of the countries are south of China.
Some are west of China.

（1）Singapore
Singapore is south of China. People there speak Chinese and English.
（2）Australia is southeast of China.
Canada is east of China.
India is south of China.
New Zealand is southeast of Australia.
Singapore is south of China.
South Africa is west of Australia.
The U.K. is west of China.
The U.S. is east of China.
（3）English-speaking countries
English-speaking countries are all over the world.

通过单词游戏，引出要学习的新知，引起学生的兴趣，然后利用学生的迁移能力，引导学生自读单词，培养学生的思维能力。

These English speaking countries are all over the world.
Some of these countries are south of China.
Some are west of China. Some are east of China.
Here is a list of eight of these countries.

通过听录音，跟读录音，分角色朗读，集中学生注意力，提高听读的效果，巩固所学的知识。
Language points:
1. People speak English as their first language in many countries.
在许多国家人们把英语作为他们的第一语言。
as在此处用作介词，意为“作为，当做”。
例：She works as a teacher.
We speak Chinese as our first language.
as的常用词组有：as soon as 一……就…… as well也 as＋形容词/副词＋as … 和……一样…… such as比如 the same as … 和……一样 as usual像往常一样 as if好像
e.g. As usual, Tom is the earliest.
像往常一样，汤姆是最早的。
You must speak English as much as you can.
你必须尽可能多地说英语。
2. These English speaking countries are all over the world. 这些说英语的国家遍布全世界。
English-speaking countries意为“说英语的国家”。English speaking是复合形容词，修饰countries。
e.g. Switzerland is not an English speaking country.
瑞士不是说英语的国家。
all over the world意为“全世界”。all over意为“遍及……”，相当于around。
e.g. Radio Beijing sends the news all over the world.
北京广播电台向全世界播送新闻。
3. What direction are they from China 意为“它们在中国的哪个方向 ”
该句用来询问位置及方向。回答时使用“主语＋be＋方位词＋of …”。
e.g. —What direction is Canada from China 加拿大在中国的哪个方向
—It’s east of China. 它在中国的东方。
