It is a famous clock tower in London.
（2）the same as与……一样
The U.K.’s flag has the same colours as the flag of the U.S.
（3）kangaroos
The kangaroo is one of the national animals of Australia.
（4）the Sydney Opera House
You can watch operas there.
The capital city of Australia is Canberra (堪培拉).
通过单词游戏，引出要学习的新知，引起学生的兴趣，然后利用学生的迁移能力，引导学生自读单词，培养学生的思维能力。

文本内容：
1. What do you know about the U.K.
This is a map of the U.K. People speak English there. It is west of China. The capital is London.
Here’s the U.K.’s flag. It is red, white and blue. It has the same colours as the flag of the U.S.
This is a lion. It’s the U.K.’s national animal.
This is Big Ben. It is a famous clock tower in London!
2. How much do you know about Australia
Look at this map. This is Australia. It’s southeast of China. And its capital is Canberra. People speak English in Australia.
This is Australia’s flag. It’s blue and the stars are white. The little flag in the corner is the U.K.’s flag.
The kangaroo is one of the national animals of Australia.
The Sydney Opera House is a building in Sydney. It’s famous!
通过听录音，跟读录音，分角色朗读，集中学生注意力，提高听读的效果，巩固所学的知识。
Language points:
1. the same … as … 和……一样
此短语也可以连着使用。
e.g. My shoes are the same as yours. 我的鞋和你的一样。
I am the same age as Li Ming. 我和李明一样大。
反义词组为：be different from
e.g. My shoes are different from yours. 我的鞋和你的鞋不一样。
2. And its capital is Canberra. 它的首都是堪培拉。
辨析its, it’s与it is
its “它的”，是形容词性物主代词，后需接名词， 不能单独使用，在句中作定语。
it’s 是 it is的缩写形式，使用时要注意：①在句首时It’s与It is可互换。②在一般疑问句的简略肯定回答中，只用it is，不能用it’s。
it is 在句中作主谓成分。
3. one of … ……之一
该词组与可数名词复数一起使用，即“one of＋可数名词复数”。如果此结构作主语，谓语动词用单数。
e.g. One of his favourite teachers is Mr. Zhang.
他最喜欢的老师之一是张老师。
He is one of the boys from Canada.
他是来自加拿大的男孩之一。
4. little / l tl/ adj. 小的; 年幼的，幼小的
little 词义 同义词 例句
小的 small I have two little eyes. ＝I have two small eyes. 我有一对小眼睛。
年幼的， 幼小的 young Look at that little boy. ＝Look at that young boy. 看那个小男孩。
