Step 1 New words and expression.
(1) Washington, D.C.
Sydney
Vancouver Jane is from Vancouver.
(2) soon 不久,很快。一般用于句末。
I am going to Beijing soon.
不久我将去北京。
(3) capital n. 首都
the capital (city) of ……的首都
London is the capital of the U.K. 伦敦是英国的首都。
(4) invite v. 邀请 invitation n.
invite sb. 邀请某人
Do you invite the friends in Beijing
(5) everyone pron. 每个人,所有人。强调整体,相当于everybody,作主语时,谓语动词用单数。
Everyone works hard.
通过单词游戏,引出要学习的新知,引起学生的兴趣,然后利用学生的迁移能力,引导学生自读单词,培养学生的思维能力。

听录音,学习第一部分内容。
文本内容:
Jack is going back to Canada soon. He has a big goodbye party and he invites all of his friends.
Jack: Hi, Li Ming! I’m so happy to see you.
Li Ming: Thank you for inviting me!
Jack: You’re e and meet everyone.
Li Ming: Great!
Jack: Jane, this is Li Ming. He is my good friend.
Jane: Hey, Li Ming. I’m Jane. It’s nice to meet you.
Li Ming: Nice to meet you, Jane. Where are you from
Jane: I come from Sydney, Australia.
John: Hi! I’m John. I’m from London.
Li Ming: London is the capital of the U.K., right
John: Yes, that’s right.
Mike: Hi, there. My name is Mike and I’m from the U.S. I live in Washington, D.C.
Greg: Hello, Li Ming. I’m Greg. I’m from Vancouver, Canada.
Li Ming: Hi, Mike! Hi, Greg! I’m very happy to meet you! Jack and all of his friends have a lot of fun at the party.
通过听录音,跟读录音,分角色朗读,集中学生注意力,提高听读的效果,巩固所学的知识。
Language points:
1. … and he invites all of his friends.
(1) invite “邀请”,及物动词,可直接加名词。
We invited many relatives.
我们邀请了许多亲戚。
(2) invite sb. to+名词,“邀请某人去……”。
They will invite us to dinner tomorrow.
他们明天将邀请我们共进晚餐。
(3) invite sb. to do sth. “邀请某人做某事”。
He often invites me to play computer games.
他经常邀请我玩电脑游戏。

2. Thank you for inviting me!
Thank sb. for …=Thanks for …“因……而感谢某人”。for是介词,其后跟名词、代词或动名词。
Thanks for your email. 谢谢你发给我的电子邮件。
Thanks for your coming. 谢谢你的到来。
3. He has a big goodbye party and he invites all of his friends.
◆have a goodbye party意为“开告别晚会”。
My friends will have a big goodbye party for me. 我的朋友们将会为我开一个大的告别晚会。
◆invite用作动词, 意为“邀请”, invite sb. to do sth.意为“邀请某人做某事”, “invite sb. to+地点”意为“邀请某人去某地”。
John invites me to go swimming.
约翰邀请我去游泳。
Bob invites me to his home.
鲍勃邀请我去他家。
◆“all of+one’s/the+名词”意为“所有的……”。
All of the girls are from England.
所有的女孩都来自英国。
4. I’m so happy to see you. 我非常高兴见到你。
“be+adj.+to do sth.” 翻译为“做某事怎么样”。
e.g. I’m sorry to hear that. 听到那件事我很抱歉。
5. everyone / evr w n/ pron. 每个人,所有的人
everyone作主语,谓语用第三人称单数形式。同义词为everybody。注意: 不要将everyone与every one混淆。every one表示“每一……”,常与of连用。
e.g. Everyone is here. 每一个人都在这儿。
Every one of the CDs is wonderful. 这些唱片中的每一张都很棒。
6. Where are you from 你来自哪里?
此句是用来询问对方国籍、家乡的交际用语。其结构是: Where+be+主语+from 等同于“Where+do/does+主语+come from ”。
答语使用“主语+be+from+地点名词.”或“主语+come/comes from+地点名词.”。be from和come from为同义短语。但come为实义动词,构成疑问句和否定句时,一定要借助于助动词do或does。
e.g. —Does Tom come from China 汤姆来自中国吗?
—No, he doesn’t. 不,他不是。
