【教学目标】
（1）能够听、说、读、写单词： direction, north, south, east, west, point, country, grandparent。
（2）掌握和运用描述国家和方位的句型。
（3）能够听、说、运用句型：
This is north.
North points up on a map.
We can see all the countries around the world.
It’s red on the map.
Where is New Zealand
My grandparents will go there during the Spring Festival.
（4）能够用正确的语音, 语调朗读课文中的对话, 能运用所学知识与他人问候交流，进行英语日常交际。

新课导入：
Warm up

引入学习内容。
新课讲授：
Step 1 New words and expression.

通过单词游戏，引出要学习的新知，引起学生的兴趣，然后利用学生的迁移能力，引导学生自读单词，培养学生的思维能力。
Step 2 课文内容学习
课堂导入：
This lesson we will study the four directions, what are they
（呈现教课书图片。）
听录音，学习第一部分内容。
文本内容：
1. North, south, east and west
This is north. North points up on a map.
This is east. East points right.
This is west. West points left.
This is south. South points down.
2. A map of the world
Li Ming: Look at the map, Wang Mei. We can see all the countries around the world.
Wang Mei: Yes. I can see China. It’s red on the map. But where is New Zealand My grandparents will go there during the Spring Festival.
Li Ming: Well, can you see Australia It’s southeast of China. And New Zealand is southeast of Australia.
Wang Mei: Yes, I see it. And where is Canada
Li Ming: It is north of the U.S.
Wang Mei: Oh, yes! It is green on the map! Danny is green, too.
通过听录音，跟读录音，分角色朗读，集中学生注意力，提高听读的效果，巩固所学的知识。
Language points:
1. north, south, east and west都是方位词。
四个方位词的词性及用法。
north south east west 词性 词义 例句
名词 分别为北、北方；南、南方；东、东方；西、西方，常和定冠词the连用。 The sun rises in the east. 太阳从东方升起。
2. point up向上指
e.g. Please point up. 请向上指。
point的用法见下图：
3. country / k ntr / 可数名词，翻译为“国家”。
e.g. China is a big country. 中国是一个大国。
country还可以翻译为“乡村”，此时country常与the连用。
e.g. My aunt raises pigs in the country.
我的姑姑在乡下养猪。
be southeast of … 在……的东南方
e.g. Shanghai is southeast of Xi’an.
上海在西安的东南面。
be＋方位词＋of表“在……的……方向”。
e.g. Qingdao is east of Shijiazhuang.
青岛在石家庄的东面。
Fujian is south of Beijing. 福建在北京的南面。
