【教学目标】

（2）让学生了解更多表示生日和日期的词语, 掌握英语中数词的用法以及基数词和对应的序数词形式。
（3）能够听、说、运用句型：
① What are you doing

⑤ My grandfather forgets his birthday every year.

Step 1 New words and expression.
(1) September
September is the ninth month of a year.
(2) October
October is the tenth month of a year
(3) July
July is the seventh month of a year.
(4) August
August is the eighth month of a year
(5) December
December is the twelfth month of a year.
通过单词游戏，引出要学习的新知，引起学生的兴趣，然后利用学生的迁移能力，引导学生自读单词，培养学生的思维能力。

文本内容：
(1) A birthday present
Jack: Hi, Li Ming. What are you doing
Li Ming: I’m making a birthday present for my grandfather.
Jack: When is his birthday
Li Ming: His birthday is on Wednesday, December 28.
Jack: What are you making
Li Ming: It’s a calendar! My grandfather forgets his birthday every year.
Jack: Ha ha! A calendar is a good present for him.
Li Ming: When is your birthday, Jack
Jack: My birthday It’s on August 11. Oh, no, that’s my mum’s birthday. My birthday is on August 23.
Li Ming: OK, Jack. Maybe I need to make a calendar for you, too.
(2) How many days are in a month
Thirty days have September, April, June and November.
All the rest have thirty one.
But February is a different one.
It has twenty eight; that’s fine.
A leap year makes it twenty nine!

通过听录音，跟读录音，分角色朗读，集中学生注意力，提高听读的效果，巩固所学的知识。
Language points:
1. ①月份是专有名词，首字母大写。
月份可以用缩写，
January—Jan.
February—Feb.
March—Mar.
April—Apr.
June—Jun.
July—Jul.
August—Aug.
September—Sept./Sep.
October—Oct.
November—Nov.
December—Dec.
月份后面具体到几号，要用序数词表示。
2. 基数词变为序数词的规则。
英语中基数词变为序数词时，一般在基数词后加词尾-th，但有几个词变化特殊，只要记住下面口诀，这些问题即可迎刃而解。
一、二、三，单独记；八去t，九除e，ve要用f替; 整十基数变序数，先把ty变成tie；要是遇到两位数，十位基数个位序，th最后加上去。
3. When is your birthday 你的生日是什么时候？
【巧解句构】本句是由when（意为“什么时候, 何时”）引导的特殊疑问句，用来对“时间”进行提问。例如：
When will you have lunch 你何时吃午饭？
When do you go to the store 你何时去商店？
【要点剖析】birthday意为“生日, 开始日”，它是由birth “出生”与day “天,日子”两个词组成的合成词。
4. the rest意为“其余的，剩余的部分”。
e.g. Three of us will go; the rest can stay here.
我们中的三个人去，其余的人可以留在这里。
the rest意为“……的其他部分”，可指人或物，可用于修饰可数或不可数名词。须说明具体的对象时，用the rest of …，谓语动词的数由主语所指内容确定。
5. enjoy / n d / v. 喜爱，享受……的乐趣
“喜欢做某事”只能用enjoy doing sth.，“做某事玩得开心”是enjoy oneself＝have fun doing sth.。
e.g. I enjoy reading very much. 我非常喜欢读书。
We are enjoying ourselves in the park now.
现在我们在公园里玩得很开心。
