Lesson 18 We All Look Different!
【教学目标】
(1)能够听、说、读、写单词:different, cute, twelve, thirteen, almost, funny。
(2)能够运用本课词汇及句型简单描述自己或他人。
(3)能够听、说、运用句型:What does he/she look like
He/She looks cool/cute/funny/different.
He is good-looking.
She has short blond hair.
(4)能够用正确的语音、语调朗读课文中的对话。能运用所学知识与他人问候交流,进行英语日常交际。
【教学重难点】
重点:能够听、说、读、写单词:different, cute, twelve, thirteen, almost, funny。
难点:能够运用本课词汇及句型简单描述自己或他人。

通过对话,引入本课的学习内容。
新课讲授:
Step 1 New words and expression.
(1) cute
He is cute.
He looks cute.
(2) different: 不同的。
反义词:the same 相同的
They are in the same school, but in different classes.
(3) blond
She has short blond hair.
(4) glasses
He wears glasses.
(5) funny
He is funny.
He looks funny.
almost
I’m Li Ming. I’m almost twelve years old.
通过单词游戏,引出要学习的新知,引起学生的兴趣,然后利用学生的迁移能力,引导学生自读单词,培养学生的思维能力。
Step 2 课文内容学习
What do they look like
(呈现教课书图片。)听录音,学习第一部分内容。
文本内容:
1) What does he/she look like
She is beautiful.
He is good-looking.
He looks cool!
She looks cute!
2) We all look different.
Jenny is from Canada. She is twelve years old. She has short blond hair. Her eyes are blue. She is a pretty girl.
Danny is from Canada. He is thirteen years old. He has three black hairs. He is big and tall. He looks funny.
I’m Li Ming. I am almost twelve years old. I’m from China. I have short black hair. I wear glasses. We all look different.
通过听录音,跟读录音,分角色朗读,集中学生注意力,提高听读的效果,巩固所学的知识。
Language points:
1. What does he/she look like 他/她长什么样
这是用来询问某人或某物外貌特征的常用句型。其结构为“What do/does+sb./sth.+look like ”,其中look是连系动词,like是介词。
其回答方式有两种:
(1)主语+be动词/look(s)+形容词.
(2)主语+have/has+名词(名词前可能有两个形容词来修饰).
e.g. —What does Tony look like
托尼长什么样
—He is tall and thin. 他又高又瘦。
“What be+sb./sth.+like ”可用来询问某人的性格或某物的特征。
e.g. —What is your sister like
你妹妹是什么样的人
—She is very shy. 她很害羞。
2. He looks cool! 他看上去很酷!
考查look的用法,作连系动词时,意为“看上去”,后面加形容词,构成系表结构。
e.g. He looks very happy today.
今天他看上去很高兴。
类似于look这样的词还有feel(摸起来),smell(闻起来),sound(听起来),taste(尝起来),后面也加形容词,构成系表结构。
e.g. The food smells good. 这食物闻起来很香。
The song sounds beautiful. 这首歌听起来很好听。
3. She is twelve years old. 她12岁了。
此句是叙述某人年龄的句式。其结构:Sb.+be+数词/阿拉伯数字+名词(单数或复数)+old.
e.g. Lu Yuting is sixteen/16 years old.
路玉婷16岁了。
The baby is two months old.
这个婴儿两个月大了。
He is one year old. 他一岁了。
4. short blond hair意为“金色短发”。
表示长短和颜色的形容词修饰同一个名词时,长短在前,颜色在后。
e.g. I have long black hair. 我有黑色的长发
5. We all look different. 我们看上去都不同。
different / ‘d fr nt / adj. 意为“不同的”,其后一般接名词复数。
e.g. My friends live in different cities.
我的朋友们住在不同的城市。
different的固定搭配:be different from意为“与……不同”。
Step 3 Let’s Do It!
1) Listen and fill in the blanks.
2) Match the people with the descriptions.
3) Fill in the blanks with “have” or “has”.
4) Work in pairs. Student A describes someone and Student B draws a picture according to the description. Take turns describing and drawing. Do the descriptions match the drawings
Role play
1. Role play the conversation in groups;
2. Role play the conversation in front of the class.

本节课听、说、读、写、看环节紧扣,逐步达成教学目标。教师出示并分析教学目标,先复习形容词并板书到黑板上,然后学生看、读文本,发现动词的不同,练习巩固词汇,听力、朗读紧跟,用结构图总结怎样描写人的外貌,小组合作写一写猜一猜,学生积极参与,检验学习效果,作业布置合理。自己感觉总结时再加一句话就好了,告诉学生“无论高矮胖瘦头发肤色怎样,健康就好”。
