Step 1: Consolidation 1. Enjoy a song: How are you 2. Play a game Read the relevant words 3. Summarize previous sentences Step 2: Warm-up & Lead-in 1. Play a song about Halloween 2. Explain some culture points about Halloween Step 3: Presentation & Practice 1. Learn the story (1) Show the pictures of “Read aloud”. Lead students to look at the five pictures and predict the main idea of the story. T: We have so many friends. Look! Who are they (2) Play the cartoon for the first time. Help students understand the phrases “white hands, brown arms” by Picture 3 and get the main idea of the story. T: (Point to Picture 3.) Look at Zoom/Zip. What is he/she saying Ss: … T: Is this Zoom /Is this Zip Ss: No. This is Mike./This is John. Help students get more details to understand the story better. (3) Play the cartoon again. Ask students to read after the recording. Let students practice the story and do a dubbing show. (4) Let students wear the headdresses to act out the story. 2. Review the words about colours. (1) Ask students a question “What colour is the pumpkin ” Lead students to answer with the words about colours. (2) Listen and colour. Let students look at the picture carefully. T: What are they doing They are enjoying the party! Now, please help the kids to make them more beautiful. Play the recording. Let students pay attention to the key information “Miss, Mr, green, blue, red” and colour the picture. (3) Show the listening material, check the answers. 3.
