本单元主题属于“人与自我”范畴，涉及“学习与生活的自我管理”。学习序数词的构成以及运用序数词表示日期的方法；学会运用when引导的特殊疑问句询问日期；此外，还要学习名词所有格的构成和使用；学习询问和表达年龄的句型。
Period Ⅰ Section A(1a～1c)和Period Ⅱ Section A(2a～2e)是听说课，从十二个月份入手，通过简单的句子排序的听力训练，训练学生对有关日期信息的听辨能力，从而进行有关生日话题的讨论。
Period Ⅲ Section A(Grammar Focus～3c)是语法训练课，通过听说训练，让学生总结出由when引导的特殊疑问句的结构，然后进行书面和口头练习加以巩固。
Period Ⅳ Section B(1a～1d)是听说强化课，由活动图片引出谈论的话题，主要训练学生对活动和日期信息的听辨能力，然后根据日历谈论活动安排。
Period Ⅴ Section B(2a～2c)和Period Ⅵ Section B(3a～Self Check)是阅读写作训练课，由常见的学校活动引出阅读的内容，在进行阅读训练的基础上，针对学校活动进行便条的写作，从而提高学生的阅读和写作能力。

1．Show the pictures of the twelve months on the screen，or show a big calendar to the students.Learn the names of the twelve months.
