Unit 2 How often do you exercise
本单元属于“人与自我”范畴,涉及“丰富、充实、积极向上的生活”。
Section A是基本语言内容的积累和学习,这一部分引导学生通过本课的语言素材进行看图说话、句型演练、日常交际,通过对话表演等形式使学生能够正确地描述所参与的活动以及参与活动的频率,从而能围绕这一话题展开简单的口语交际。
Section B是知识的扩展和语言的综合运用,是在Section A的基础上,锻炼学生能够自如地谈论自己的生活习惯。这些内容都是与学生的日常生活紧密相关的,因此在这一课题的教学过程中,应紧密联系学生生活实际,采用多种方式,以说为主,配合听的练习,最终以对话为途径,掌握本课题的中心语句。这对于学生学会运用简单的英语进行交际和交流,提高学生的综合能力,特别是口语交际能力很有帮助。学生通过对本单元的学习,可以引导自己养成良好的生活习惯和学习习惯,从而合理安排自己的各项学习与生活,享受丰富多彩的校园生活。

导入一 视频导入
在平时的学习生活中,拍摄一些学生在周末所做的活动的视频,在课堂上播放,让学生观看视频中有几种周末活动,并引导学生进行问答训练。

创设一些情境:让学生做动作,比如读书、购物、看电视、锻炼、做家务、看电影、上网等,让其他学生猜这是什么活动,然后导入新课。

活动三 周末活动大比拼(2c)
组织学习小组的同学,列出你们小组参与的全部的周末活动,并对周末活动的普遍性进行排列。最受欢迎的周末活动排在最前面,最不受欢迎的活动排在最后面,并且根据受欢迎的程度,分别使用适当的频度副词进行描述。如下面的表格:

1.Let students look through the pictures again,and pay attention to the frequency words in 1b.Make sure all the students know the meanings of the words.

3.Ask students to discuss their answers in pairs and then check the answers in class.

4.Play the recording for the second time and ask students to read after the recording and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.

1.Ask students to summarize the key expressions in the listening recording in groups.
2.Let students fill in the chart about how often they do these activities and then make their own conversations according to their answers in the chart.
Step 7 Role-play(2d)
1.Show students the picture in 2d.Then lead students to learn the dialogue as follows:

2.Have students read the dialogue and answer the following questions:

3.Play the recording and let students read after it and imitate the pronunciation and intonation,and then ask students to try to memorize the conversation.
4.Ask students to act out the dialogue in pairs and select some pairs to act in front of the class.

Step 2 Work on Grammar Focus
1.Ask students to read the sentences in the chart and then show the following questions on the PPT.
(1)常见的频度副词有哪些?
(2)maybe是什么意思?它和may be的区别是什么?
2.Ask students to discuss the questions in groups of four and then write their answers.

Step 3 Ask and answer(1b)

2.Play the tape again.This time,if we have heard one question,we will have a pause.Check Tina's and Bill's answers.

Step 4 Writing(3c)
1.Let students write a report about their good and bad habits and say how often they do things,using the report in 3a as an example.
2.Writing guide:
(1)First,write some sentences about habits according to the chart.
(2)Second,write the good habits first,then the bad ones;and make them in correct order.What's more,you should use some conjunctions correctly,such as however and also.
3.Check the composition and let some students read their compositions.

Step 5 Work on 4
1.Read the questions and the answers.Let students mark a,b or c for each question.
2.Have students score themselves.
3.Divide the students into several groups and let them discuss whether they agree with the individual scoring for each answer and the overall interpretation of the total scores.

1.Let students talk about the activities they do and don't do or their parents do and don't do and make a chart.
2.Let some students read their charts aloud.Then ask the students to try to write five sentences using the information above.
3.Make sure they use the correct form of the verbs.

1.Tell students that they should read the conversation and then fill in the blanks with the right form of the words.
2.Students read the conversation and try to fill in the blanks.

4.Let students practice the conversation with their partner.
