Unit 4 What's the best movie theater
本单元属于“人与自我”范畴,涉及“个人喜好与情感表达”。让学生能用一些单音节和多音节形容词的比较级和最高级表述自己的喜好。教学内容与学生实际生活密切相关,易于引导学生大胆进行口语交流。通过本课学习,可使学生了解他人喜好,增进学生之间、师生之间的情感交流。
Section A部分通过谈论去看电影时如何作出选择,引出谈论的话题——将事物的各个方面进行比较;通过对将电影院进行对比的听力素材的学习,训练学生听取形容词和副词最高级信息的能力;通过简单会话和采访活动,提高学生运用形容词和副词最高级的表达能力;通过分角色会话的学习和Grammar Focus后面的书面训练,进一步提高学生对形容词和副词最高级的认识和应用。教学重点是形容词和副词最高级的含义理解、变化规则及其应用。
Section B部分通过几个形容词反义词的配对引入新课;通过谈论学校才艺表演,强化学生对最高级的听说训练;通过对有关才艺表演文章的阅读和一篇关于Greenwood Park的学习,使学生学会介绍身边的事物。
Self Check部分是对本单元所学语法(形容词和副词的最高级)的训练与检测。

2.学习简单的比较,并表达自己的喜好。
3.理解课文中各个知识点的意义,学会做调查,并学会制作和填写调查表。

Show some pictures on the PPT and teach the new words and phrases in this period:theater,comfortable,seat,screen,close,ticket,worst,cheaply,song,choose,carefully,reporter,so far,fresh,comfortably.
2.Work on 1a
(1)Let students look at the chart in 1a.Then ask them the following question:
How do you choose a movie theater
(2)Ask students to write the things in the box under“Important” or “Not Important”.

1.Let students look at the chart and read the sentences in 1b.Make sure all the students know the meanings of the sentences.

4.Play the recording the second time and ask students to read after the recording and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.

1.Tell students this time they have to pay attention to more details and let students take notes when they are listening.
