Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game show
本单元属于“人与社会”范畴,涉及“中外影视、戏剧、音乐、舞蹈、绘画、建筑等艺术形式中的文化价值和作品赏析,优秀的艺术家及其艺术成就”。目的是让学生学会表达自己的看法,并能够灵活运用表达看法的语句。另外还从学生日常的喜好导入,谈论喜欢和不喜欢的事物。
Section A是基本语言内容的收集和学习,要求学生掌握一些常见电视节目类型的英文名称,如talk show,sitcom,news,soap opera,game show,sports show,talent show等,结合do引导的一般疑问句和what引导的特殊疑问句,进行简单会话,表达个人对某种电视节目的喜好。
Section B在Section A的基础上,进一步拓展学生基础知识和语言综合运用能力。Section B 1a在Section A 1a呈现的6种TV shows的基础上增加了comedy,action movie,scary movie等内容。Section B的教学应侧重于引导学生识记并运用一些描述性形容词,如wonderful,relaxing,meaningless,enjoyable,exciting,boring等,自由谈论电视节目并表达个人的喜好。同时,Section B也安排了一些读、写的任务活动,教师在教学过程中可以整合本单元教学内容,引导学生尝试着写简单的影评。
本单元的话题实用且学生感兴趣,本单元的学习对于提升学生具体语境下的语言综合运用能力大有助益,同时也可以丰富学生生活,陶冶情操,对学生德育教育也是益处良多。

4.了解一些日常生活用品,并描述对其的喜好程度。
1.重点:学习并掌握用来陈述自己的看法、意见及喜好的词汇和基本句型。
2.难点:正确运用“What do you think of…?”及“I like/love/don't like/can't stand…”等句型结构来评价客观事物。
导入一 视频导入
播放学生最喜欢看的电影精彩片段,引导学生谈论自己喜欢看的电影类型及其内容。

导入二 词汇导入
教师引导学生剖析英语单词news的来历:news(新闻)来自“东西南北,四面八方”,该词中的四个字母分别是north,east,west,south的首字母,它并不是由“new+s”构成的。今天我们就谈论一下关于新闻的电视节目。
(一)听说课
活动一 Role-play(分角色表演,小组内谈论喜欢的电视节目及其原因。)
A:My friends,please tell me about your favorite program and the reasons.
B:OK.I like watching the news,because I hope to find out what's going on around the world.
C:I don't mind the news.I enjoy soap operas,because I like to follow the story and see what happens next.

活动二 我来配音(分角色表演,给自己喜欢的英文电影片段配音。)
1.让学生提前选好电影片段,熟悉人物的台词,在新课开始前,进行电影配音展示,提高学生的英语学习兴趣和英语应用能力。
2.重新播放,让学生自己配音。

阅读文章,将下列信息按先后顺序排序。

Step 1 Lead-in
1.Show students a TV program and ask them to watch carefully.
2.Then ask students to share their opinions about the program.

Step 2 Work on(1a~1c)
Work on 1a
Ask students to look at the picture and the words in 1a,and match the TV shows with the pictures a-g.Then check the answers with the class together.
Work on 1b
1.Let students look at the information in 1b and ask students to listen and number the shows 1-4 in the order they hear them.Then check the answers in class.
2.Play the recording the second time and ask students to read after the recording and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
Work on 1c
1.Show students a sample conversation and then ask them to look at the box in 1c.
2.Let them read the conversation in 1c and then make their own conversations using the words in the box.
3.Then let some pairs act out their conversations in front of the class.Pay attention to the students' pronunciation and intonation.

Step 3 Listening(2a~2b)
Work on 2a
1.Show students the picture and the words in 2a,and ask them to listen to the recording carefully.
2.Play the recording and let students number the TV shows 1-5 in the order they hear them.Then check the answers together.
Work on 2b
1.Show students the sentences in 2b,and ask them to pay attention to the blanks.
2.Play the recording again and ask students to complete the sentences.Then check the answers together.

Step 4 Work on 2c
Ask students to make conversations in pairs,using the information in 2a and 2b.

Step 5 Role-play the conversation in 2d
1.Ask students to read the conversation and finish the following tasks.

4.Ask students to act out the conversation in pairs and select some pairs to act in front of the class.

(4)常见的后面接省略to的不定式的动词有哪些?
2.Have students discuss those questions in groups of four and then write their answers.Choose several groups to report their answers and then evaluate them.

However,some people can't stand them.They think some students spend too much time watching the programs.It is bad for their study.Some students even stop studying to take part in them.
In my opinion,these programs are wonderful.I like them very much.And we should regard them in a right way.
