3.培养学生理解课文中各个知识链的能力,掌握阅读和写作技巧。
4.激发学生的学习热情与兴趣,体验用英语与人交流的乐趣。

导入一 预测未来的世界
教师引导学生对100年后的世界进行想象、预测,从而导入新课。

After watching the movie clip,ask the students some questions.

1.任务型教学:阅读文章完成任务
阅读Section B文章,根据文章内容,找出文章各段的主题句,完成2b每段的大意概括;根据文章内容,完成2c补全句子和2d补全短文。
2.情境教学:机器人哑剧表演
每个小组选出一名同学扮演机器人,其他人对“机器人”发出指令,“机器人”按指令做动作,并评选出表演最好的小组。
3.视频教学:观看有关机器人的电影片段《机械公敌》

Step 1 Warming-up and lead-in
Show students a video about robots and ask them some questions after watching it:

Step 2 Presentation
1.New words
Show students some pictures of the new words in this period:paper,pollution,future,planet,earth,plant.
2.Work on 1a
(1)Ask students to read the predictions in 1a.Let them think about how the world will be different 100 years from now.
(2)Get students to check(√) A for agree or D for disagree.Then check the answers with the class together.

Step 3 Listening 1(1b)
1.Let students look through the predictions in 1a again.
2.Play the recording,and ask students to circle the predictions they hear in 1a.

4.Play the recording the second time and ask the students to read after the recording and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.

1.Show students a sample conversation and then ask them to make their own conversations in 1c.
2.Then let some pairs act out their conversations in front of the class.Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation of the students.
Step 5 Listening 2(2a~2b)
Work on 2a
1.Show students the sentences in 2a,and ask them to pay attention to the words in the brackets.
2.Play the recording and let students circle the words they hear.Then check the answers together.

Step 6 Role-play the conversation
Work on 2c
1.Ask students to read the predictions in 2a and 2b and show them a sample conversation.
2.Let students make their own conversations according to the sample conversation in 2c.
3.Then select some pairs to share their conversations in class.
Work on 2d
1.Show students the pictures in 2d and ask them to guess what the conversation in the pictures is about.Let students read the conversation.Then ask students the following questions:

What's your idea
2.Play the recording and let students read after it and imitate the pronunciation and intonation,and then ask students to try to memorize the conversation.
3.Ask students to practice the conversation in pairs and select some pairs to act in front of the class.

1.Call students' attention to 3a.Make sure they know the differences of “more” “less” and “fewer” in use.
2.Students complete the task in 3a.Fill in the blanks with “more” “less” or “fewer” in the five sentences.
3.Check the answers.
Work on 3b
1.Call students' attention to 3b.Read the instructions to the class,and then make students look through the contents before the blank lines.
2.Group work:students discuss the four statements in groups.Then complete the predictions with what they think will happen.Write down the results on the lines.Pay attention to the adverbial of time.
3.Choose two or three groups to present the results.Teacher makes some comments.

1.Get students to read the words in the box and the categories in 1a,and show some pictures to help them understand.

1.Ask the students to read the sentences in 1d.Tell students they'll listen to the recording again.Then try to fill in the blanks with the words in the box.
2.Students listen to the recording carefully and try to fill in the blanks.
