Unit 3 Could you please tell me where the restrooms are
本单元主题属于“人与社会”范畴,涉及“良好的人际关系与人际交往”。
Section A以购物和去游乐园游玩等日常活动为切入点,通过问路、指路的话语进行语言的操练和学习,学生可以通过模拟日常生活的场景来体会、感受和领悟本单元的语言目标内容。在问路的表达中穿插了宾语从句。
Section B主要围绕语言的“礼貌”和“得体”而进行,在语言技能上,通过听说描述地点,进行指路,再深入到对礼貌和得体语言的读写,进行语言的综合性训练。同时,还不失时机地在对话和阅读课文中反复出现了宾语从句,不断在具体语境中加强学生对宾语从句的理解、掌握和运用。

导入一 视频导入
利用视频,展示一幅有地点或场所以及位置关系的地图,让学生仔细观察地图,明确某个地点或场所的位置,然后引导学生编一些以“问路”和“指路”为话题的对话,以导入新课。

Step 2 Work on 1a~1c
1a:
(1)Show some stamps to the students and present the new sentences:Could you tell me where I can buy some stamps?And then talk about the other things.
(2)Read aloud the phrases in 1a.Match each thing with a place in the picture in 1a.
1b:Play the recording for the students to listen to and complete 1b.Play it again if necessary,then check the answers together.
1c:The teacher asks two students to read the conversation in 1c to the class.Then ask them to do the pair work to make other conversations.After that some pairs should be asked to present their conversations to the class.

Step 3 Listening(2a~2b)
2a:
(1)Show the picture.Talk about it with the students.Then read the instructions in 2a.Ask the students some questions:

(3)Ask some students to answer the two questions.

Step 4 Work on 2c
Ask students to make conversations in pairs,using the information in 2a and 2b.

Step 5 Role-play the conversation in 2d
1.Let the students read the conversation individually and answer the questions:

2.Play the recording and get students to listen and repeat,and then role-play the conversation.
3.Ask several pairs to act it out.

●Before reading
Ask students to predict what they will read in this conversation with the help of the title and the picture.Make sure not to read the words in the conversation.Show some questions to let the students to answer.
●While reading
1.Let students scan the conversation and check their predictions.
2.Get students to read the conversation and try to find out the answers to the questions in 3a,and encourage students to ask their partners for help if needed.Then check the answers.
3.Ask students to read the conversation more carefully again,and focus on the details about “I wonder…” “Do you know…?” “Could you tell us…?” .Complete 3b.
●After reading
1.Get students to make sentences with the language points:“I wonder…” “Do you know…?” “Could you tell us…?” and so on.
2.Retell the conversation according to the following table.

Step 3 Grammar Focus
1.Ask the students to read the questions and answers in the grammar box.
2.Show the questions and answers on PPT and learn the polite questions.Remind the students of the differences between a special question and a polite question.Compare the two questions and get the students to learn them.
3.Then ask the students to do the pair work to practice the questions and answers in the grammar box.

Step 4 Work on 4a,4b & 4c
1.Use PPT to show the 4 questions in 4a.Ask students to read the sentences.Ask the students:Are these questions polite or impolite And then ask the students to finish the task in 4a and the teacher gives help if needed.
2.Ask the students to read the first sentence in 4b.Tell them how to make the question more polite.Then ask the students to finish the following three sentences.Check the answers.
3.Work in pairs and encourage students to summarize the polite ways of asking the way and then finish the task in 4c.Ask students to role-play the conversations.
