教材分析 本课时是在基本掌握本单元重点词汇和句型的基础上，进行的练习测试与故事阅读课。Start to read中，有两个活动，一个是Find and say, 复习字母的书写、字形与发音的。Wu Binbin发现一个帘布上面有很多字母。学生需要帮助他把上面所有的字母都找出来，并借此复习本单元中学习过的字母Kk—Ii的字形和发音。第二个活动为Read and count，主要通这个活动来复习动物单词的字形与字义。教材提供了很多种动物的食物，并在食物旁标注了动物名称，学生需要数一数提到的动物各有多少次，把数字写在相应的动物图像的旁边。这个活动既能帮助学生记准动物名称单词的字形，还能帮助他们更深入地了解动物。Let’s check部分也包括两个活动。一个是听音标序号，一个是看一看连一连。听音标序号活动中，学生会听到四段对话，根据对话中提到的动物名称，找到相应的图片，并为其标序号。这个活动检验学生能否听懂本单元中的重点问答句。看一看连一连活动是将教材中出现的动物形象与下面的动物名称匹配起来。这个活动可以帮助学生将字形与字义统一起来，更牢固地记忆本单元学习的重点单词。Let’s sing部分展示了一首经典儿歌Old MacDonald。在这首歌曲中，学生可以练习到动物名称及其叫声。这首歌曲重复的地方比较多，曲调活泼，学生比较熟悉。因此在唱歌的同时，他们可以选择使用声音和动作来表演动物，更加立体综合地来复习动物类单词。Story time呈现了一个重复性叠加的故事，Zoom让一些小动物跟着自己一起走，每增加一个动物，要说的句子就增加一句。这是个挑战学生的记忆力的游戏。可以根据这个故事在教学过程中进行这样的挑战游戏，来复习之前学习过的动物名称乃至字母、文具、颜色等内容。
学情分析 We love animals 这一单元围绕小动物展开对单词的认知，与学生的日常生活联系紧密。因为学生的年龄特点，对动物也都很偏爱，所以在本课中要运用多样化教学手段使学生轻松掌握重难点。在学习小动物名称的同时，教育孩子们要珍爱小动物，因为动物是人类最好的朋友。在鼓励性语言评价中树立学生的自信心，让学生有兴趣说英语，做游戏及积极参与合作。
