Pre-task preparation Make a rhyme Speaking Play the recording for “Listen and enjoy” and have the students say the rhyme aloud in groups. Then encourage them to create new rhyme. Show the pictures of the life cycle of a butterfly or a silkworm and write the key patterns It was--- and They were--- on the blackboard. Have the students choose one set of pictures and talk about it in groups of four. 学生自编儿歌,激发学生的学习兴趣。 学生主动运用语言表述昆虫以及小动物的演变过程,提高学生语言表达能力。
While-task procedure Say and write Learn the sounds Show the students some pictures of some insects. Have the students describe them with the given patterns It was--- and Now it is--- in pairs. Then write the patterns It was--- Now it is--- They were--- and Now they are--- on the blackboard.Have the students make sentences with them. Divide the students into groups of four. Give each group a piece of paper with sentences describing a butterfly’s life cycle. The sentences should be in a random order. Have the students discuss in groups and try to number the jumbled sentences in the correct order. 1.Show the phonetic symbol cards for the sounds. Read the words in “Learn the sounds”. Ask the students to repeat after the tape until they can pronounce the sounds correctly. 2.Listen and circle. 通过学生间的小组活动,增强语言的实际运用能力。
Post-task activity Look and say 1.Show the students a mind map of the life cycle as below. Have them choose one branch of the mind map and talk about it in groups of four. 2.Do task “My diary” of the Workbook. 小组合作的方式活跃课堂气氛。
