Unit 5 My Favorite Activities reading and writing
教学目标
Knowledge objectives:
Can point and say the words: mouth, mouse, south, house, loud and cow.
Can pronounce the sound /au/.
Can practice the words with the sound /au/ in the following chant.
Can identify the group letters: “ou” and “ow”, which make the sound /au/.
Ability objectives:
Develop the students’ ability of distinguishing the sounds in words.
Develop the students’ ability of saying words while they see them.
Develop the students’ ability of writing words while they hear them.
Emotional objectives:
Change the old ways of studying and reciting new English words and let the students feel like learning English with a convenient and interesting method to remember words.
学情分析
一、综述:本单元是广东省教育厅编写的《开心学英语》五年级教学内容.本人将此单元设计为三个课时,以下是各个课时的教学设计,同时将选取第三课时进行课堂现场上课,课型是语音教学。
二、学生分析:
本课的教学对象是五年级学生,年龄为11岁左右。他们的特点是好奇、好动、善模仿、好表演,有较强的与他人合作、交流的意愿,对英语的学习兴趣浓,但不能持久,因此,需要具体、直观、形象的教学材料及灵活多样的教学方法来引导学习。
在学习本单元前,学生已具备听、说、读、写等语言知识和技能;已经学过一些描述事物的形容词;能够听懂一些简单的对话,并作答;能够根据情景组织简单的对话交际和表演。
通过四年半的英语学习,学生养成了良好的学习习惯,具有一定的学习策略与能力。在课堂活动中,学生能积极与他人合作,在小组内共同完成学习任务;有表达和表现的欲望,能积极运用所学英语进行表达和交流;形成了把知识运用到生活实际中的意识。
另外,学生在中低年级阶段已经学会了汉语拼音中声母的读音,所以在教学设计上,巧妙的把汉语拼音的声母读音与英语辅音字母的读音联系起来,以学生熟悉的知识直接迁移到新的知识里去。但是,作为一节纯语音教学课,学生没有phonics语音拼读的基础,以往背读单词都是以死记硬背的方式进行,而且对于辅音字母组合的发音,特别是th,更是不知道其中发音方法。对phonics语音拼读方法的学习,可以让学生改变枯燥的单词机械记忆方法,为更高年级阶段的学习,提高单词记忆的效率奠定重要的基础。
三、教材整体分析:
本单元以过去和现在的时间对比描述事物的状态为话题,让学生发现不同时态下be动词的变化和事物状态的比较。语言材料为学生日常生活的场景,真实具体,让他们乐学易学。本人根据学生的实际情况把本单元划分为3个课时,即Vocabulary, Target, Song三个部分为第一课时,Conversation, Practice, Activity 三个部分为第二课时,Sounds and words, Chant 两个部分为第三课时。
四、单元整体目标分析:
通过本单元的学习,学生能够认识一般过去式的用法,能够区分一般现在时与过去时。学生能够运用本单元的新词汇描述和对比事物过去与现在的状态,并运用到实际生活情景中。除外,学生通过语音的学习,能够正确的发[au]音,并认识其字母组合“ou”和“ow”的发音,懂得利用语音拼读方法来拼读单词,记忆单词。
五、教学内容:
本课时内容为该单元的sounds and letters部分内容,重点是学习字母组合ou和ow的发音[au],并运用到单词中去。本部分主要有六个单词组成,分别是:mouse, cow, south, mouth, house和loud,以ou组合为主要的形式,把ow 组合作为[au]发音的拓展。然后学生根据所学的[au]音进行下一部分的歌谣chant的练习。本人在教学设计时,巧妙的把枯燥的chant配上音乐变成song,而且为了更好的操练[au]的发音,让学生更容易朗朗上口,在原句基础上改变成:Loud sound, loud sound. Who shake the ground Loud sound, loud sound. It’s a cow.
重点难点
⑴ Key point: Learn to say and point the words and the sounds.

① Read and write words with the help of phonics.
② Match the spelling(form) of words with the meaning.
教学过程
【导入】歌曲
Step 1. Before class activity:
Sing a song all together
Purpose: 通过唱歌,调动学生情绪,并复习所学过表示科目的单词,为下面的猜科目活动作铺垫。
【讲授】教学过程
Step 2. Presentation:
I. Chinese class: The teacher plays the recorded sound: b, p, m, f… (声母)and has the students guess what subject it is.
⑴ The teacher says the sounds of some consonants and invites students to get the right letter cards.(The students who get the letter cards line up in front of the class.)
⑵ The teacher says the sounds of the letter groups and the students who hold the right letter cards walk one step, like /gl/, /br/, /th/ (The teacher explains a little about the pronunciation rule of /th/.)
Purpose: 通过播放声母的读音让学生猜出这是语文课,让他们回忆声母的读音,由于拼音中声母的读音与英语的辅音字母的发音有相似之处,在此基础上迁移到辅音字母的发音。(新旧知识的转化)
II. Music class: The teacher plays the recorded sound, and has the students guess the subject.
⑴The students sing an English song following the background music.

⑵The teacher sums up the sound /au/ and elicits the group letters: ou / ow.
Purpose: 通过音乐让学生猜出这是音乐课,让他们跟唱英语歌曲以练习[au]的发音,从而引出发[au]音的字母组合ou和ow.
Step 3. Practice and extension:
III. English class: The teacher plays the recorded sound: A, B, C… and has the students guess the subject.
⑴ Listen and choose the right apple.(words with the group letters “ou”and “ow”)
Purpose: The students have learned some consonants in the Chinese class and the vowel [au] in the music class, so they can distinguish the sounds and choose the right words they listen even though they actually don’t know how to read the new words.(听音能辨)
⑵ Read words with the help of phonics teaching method.
The teacher teaches the students to read words in this way: ou [au], oud [aud], loud [laud].(words with the group letters “ou” “ow”)
Alphabet calendar: (an activity for the students to read more words at random in groups)
Memory game: (an activity to check the pronunciation of words)
Purpose: The students can combine the consonants and the vowel into words and learn to read the words while they see them with the help of phonics teaching method.(见词能读)
⑶ Write words with the help of phonics teaching method.
Listen and choose the letters to complete the words.
Watch the flash, listen and complete the sentences.
Purpose: First the students can choose the letters to complete the words they listen, and then they can write the letters to complete the sentences they listen according to the pictures and the context. (听词能写)
(由于元音的字母组合多变,学生在初学语音阶段能否正确使用[au]的字母组合并不重要,有时在听到新单词时连老师也不一定能决定使用ou还是ow。所以重要的是他们能够分辨[au]的读音,写出其中的字母组合,若发现写错字母组合,那更让学生在错误中记住其正确的字母组合。)
⑷ Choose the right meaning of the words.
Purpose: As for a pure phonics class, it mainly focuses on the form of words, but according to the objectives of the textbook, the students should know about the meaning of the six words. So in the part above, the students have to complete words according to the pictures besides listening in order to link the form of the words with meaning. And for this part, the game“枯树开花” is designed to check whether they have remembered the meaning of the words.
