I realized something this morning. I have been writing for 34 years. It all started when I was just 18 years old. As a boy I had read literally(确实) hundreds of books. I had a thirst for knowledge that seemingly could never fade. Then suddenly I found I had something I wanted to share. I tried to ignore it, but as any writer will tell you once the ideas awaken inside of you they won't leave you alone until you write them down. I didn't have a computer, a word processor, or even a typewriter. Still, I grabbed a pen and lined notebook paper and wrote everything that was burning inside of me.
When I was done I didn't know how to share it. There was no Internet back then, no smartphones, or no social media. I sought out the editor(编辑) of my local county newspaper and asked him to print what I had written. He was a good man full of both wisdom and kindness. He not only printed my first story but agreed to publish(刊登) anything else I was willing to write. I continued to write new articles each week and shared them first with other local papers and later online as well. Years later at the urging of my readers I even self-published two collections of my stories in book form.
Through my writing I slowly became better than I was. In my writings I encountered my best self. In my writings I discovered the goodness and light that lie in us all. In my writings I found great love and joy and encouraged others to choose love and joy as well. I also found that we all are writers whether we put pen to paper or not. With every choice we make, with every thought we hold, and with everything we do we are writing our own life story.
Lance Wubbels once wrote, "I hope you realize your life is truly your life. It belongs to you. It is your story to write with love. Day by day, line by line, write it well."

C.He self-published two books. D.He was helped by a local newspaper editor.

A.Writing takes practice and efforts. B.Writing can benefit oneself and others.
C.Writing helps people tell right from wrong. D.Only with a pen can one write his life story.
4.Which of the following can be the best title for the text
A.A way to be a writer B.A way to share ideas
C.Living is writing D.Writing is the source of love

One week after I started working in Beijing, I decided to visit a place of interest called the Summer Palace. Before setting off, I researched into it on the Internet. The Summer Palace is composed mostly of a lake, but it's surrounded by beautiful greenery(青葱的草木) and a walkway that circles the lake. It is recommended that you give the Summer Palace about three hours. If you try to walk around it, it could take five or six hours. With that knowledge of it, I set off.
The highlight of the tour had to be the view from the Tower of Buddhist Incense. It sits on the top of a large hill overlooking the lake and that is worth the climb. It was built as a place to worship(敬奉) Buddha. And in the Summer Palace, unlike most of other places, photography isn't allowed in most of the building. Most of the statues of Buddha and the other artifacts(手工艺品) are off-limits to photos.
Another highlight was seeing the stage created for the Dowager Empress where she watched the opera and other theater items. There are box seats(包厢座位) that surround the stage and it is the largest stage created in all of Imperial China. You could almost imagine royalty(王室成员) reviewing the actors from the boxes and the stage.
I do recommend taking a boat ride if you go, which takes you from one side of the lake to the other side where you can see another set of buildings. And it is fun. You can also rent an electric or paddle boat if you want. But since it was just me, I went on one of the biggest boats with other people.
I spent another four hours wandering around the Summer Palace. But I didn't see all of it because it was getting dark. How I wish I could visit it again.
1.Before setting off to the Summer Palace, the author _________.
A.asked others about it B.didn't think it was large
C.didn't think it was small D.learned something about it

A.Forbidden. B.Allowed. C.Charged. D.Limited.
3.What do we know about the second highlight mentioned in the text
A.It sits on the top of a hill. B.It is the largest stage all over China.
C.Operas are performed there at times. D.It was for royalty to watch performances.
4.Which of the following correctly describes the author's tour
A.She spent 4 hours in the Summer Palace. B.She didn't enjoy the trip because it was too late.
C.She took a boat by herself. D.She only toured parts of the Summer Palace.

The Forbidden City is well known for being full of Chinese cultural and historical relics. But Masters in the Forbidden City (《我在故宫修文物》) does not just focus on the stories of the past. Instead, the documentary movie focuses on ordinary people — the restorers(修复者) of relics and antiquities.
The stories are told at a slow and relaxed pace, reflecting the restorers' work. Restoration of cultural relics and antiques can be time-consuming, and sometimes boring. Yet these restorers' patience and peace of mind are especially precious in the society where everything is changing so fast. "If you choose this job, you have to stand hours of work sitting on a chair. You need to be quiet and get used to being quiet," says Wang Jin, an ancient clock repair expert.
A touching part of the documentary is the spirit of craftsmanship in the restorers. "Years of humdrum work requires not only skill, but also faith and spirit," China Daily commented. "Looking for precision and perfection, devoting yourself to work, patience, loneliness... All these qualities come from the 'craftsman spirit'."
But unlike the popular idea of serious experts who sit around being serious, the documentary shows off the enthusiasm of the restorers. They play their guitars and make jokes about each other after a long day of restoration work.
One scene that has been very popular with Internet users features a young female restorer riding a bicycle through the empty Forbidden City on a Monday. While she is doing this, a narrator says, "The last person to do this was Puyi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty."
Masters in the Forbidden City has proved wrong many people's ideas about antique restorers, allowing them to realize that they are not old, dull professors, but people in their 40s, 30s and even 20s who can be quite pleasing to the eye.
1.What's the main purpose of the documentary Masters in the Forbidden City
A.To show people how antiques are restored.
B.To display relics seldom seen by ordinary people.
C.To draw attention to antique restorers' enthusiasm.
D.To praise the craftsmanship of Chinese antique restorers.
2.According to Wang Jin, we can learn that _______.
A.he often gets tired of his work
B.there is no need to do restoration work fast
C.antique restorers need to be patient and peaceful
D.it takes years of hard work to adapt to antique restoration
3.What does the underlined word "humdrum" in Paragraph 3 probably mean
A.Boring. B.Different. C.Relaxing. D.Unusual.
4.What's the purpose of using the bicycle-riding scene in the documentary
A.To remind the audience of the last emperor.
B.To show the strange hobby of young antique restorers.
C.To encourage the young to consider a career in antique restoration in the future.
D.To show that the documentary breaks the old, dull image of antique restorers.

I will share the kind act that I met with all of you. We had dozens of restaurant options within a short distance, so we often took advantage of this luxury. On one occasion, I ran out to get some food. I saw the clouds in the distance and decided I could make it there and come back in time, but I was wrong. I was about to leave the restaurant when the rain just poured. The street was flooded within minutes.
But I had my little girl and husband waiting for me back at home, and they were hungry, so I knew I had to make a run for it. The owner of the restaurant tried to encourage me to wait inside, but I insisted that I should go. At this point, he grabbed his umbrella and said, “Okay, let's go.” Of course I tried to convince him that it wasn't necessary for him to walk me home, but I knew I wouldn't prevent him from doing so. So off we went. We quickly realized that the umbrella wouldn't help much in keeping us dry. He walked me all the way to my apartment building, where he said goodbye and ran back to the restaurant.
Again I encountered this act of kindness when I was making my way to the bus. As I waited at the crosswalk, it began to rain lightly. Nothing was too bad, but a young guy nearby felt like it was heavy enough to make him step next to me and hold his umbrella above both of us. After a while, the lights turned green. I thanked him and walked across the street.
Getting around the city when you are six months pregnant and have a two-year-old kid can be challenging sometimes. One spring afternoon, I realized I needed something from the store to finish preparing for dinner. The weather seemed a bit questionable but the store was around the corner so I decided to risk it.

And in the Summer Palace, unlike most of other places, photography isn't allowed in most of the building.

That has been my life's passion可知, 作者钟爱攀岩, 由此可知, 作者站在巨大的岩石面前便立刻想攀登上去。故选A项。
5.根据空后的like beer cans, empty boxes和下文中的I tried _____ trash myself可知, 此处指的是垃圾。故选C项。
throw away意为"扔掉"; pick up意为"捡起"; break down意为"使分解"; dig out意为"挖出"。故选B项。

答案:①to sing②an③themselves④are uploaded⑤original⑥which⑦Inspired⑧performance⑨has become⑩on
故填are uploaded。
have a positive influence on... 故填on。

Paragraph 1:
It wasn't raining when we left so we didn't carry my umbrella. We quickly crossed the street to buy what we needed in our daily life. We were walking out of the store when a heavy rain fell. We wanted to cross the street and had to wait for the lights to turn green. I noticed a young couple watching us.
Paragraph 2:
As we crossed the street the woman offered me her umbrella. I said my apartment building was nearby but she insisted that I take it. I refused, but she said it just started to pour. At the same time, she handed me the umbrella and left with her husband. Staring at her figure, I was too moved to express thanks to her. I went home with the umbrella and put it away in a secret place. It was a sign of kindness.
