Today we were looking after our two nieces. They started screaming in the room where they were playing while my husband and I cooked lunch. We quickly ran to see what happened and there was a small scorpion(蝎子) that somehow got into the house.
My husband picked up the scorpion before it had a chance to get away. As he was catching the scorpion, the elder niece Alice said that it was good that he was there because "girls can't deal with that thing".
My husband asked her who told her that. Alice just shrugged(耸肩) and said, "Everyone knows girls are afraid of bugs(虫子).'' So my husband called her over and told her, "You never have to be afraid of anything only because you're a girl. You're just as good as boys. When you saw this scorpion, you called me and your aunt here. You recognized there was something that could hurt you. So you got help. I'm proud of you for letting adults know about something that was a danger to you. You're very smart.''
He held the scorpion's tail, adding, "As you grow up, people are always going to try to tell you what you can and can't do, but you can do anything if you put your effort into it. There're women that work with bugs for their jobs and study them." She got so excited at the thought of a woman being able to do things a man can do.
At this point her little sister Lisa came towards them. So my husband sat there and explained the different parts of the scorpion, completely firing their imagination. Alice asked if she could hold it. Then my husband put it on her hands. She was so proud of herself that she talked about it until she went to sleep.

The idea that you can use humor, laughter, and play to make you healthier probably seems too simple to be true. However, it is really true and simple. The sense of humor, laughter and play has an important part in keeping you healthy.
Treat the blues with a sense of humor, which is closely tied to laughter. Laughter is infectious. Have you ever heard a big laugh of a young child and been able to keep yourself from smiling When laughter is shared between people, it makes them closer to each other and increases their happiness. Smiling is the beginning of laughter and a smile is also just as infectious as laughter is. You can experience something by smiling at everyone around you, and you will feel happier just by sharing a smile, even with a stranger.
Play is an important part of making sure that we stay healthy. We are often encouraged to make sure our children play, and are told of the benefits of being out playing. However, what we often forget is that it is just as important for old people to make play be part of their life as it's for children. Physical play is important for the old and it certainly helps prevent illness. While the studies are still in the early stages, the studies that have been done have shown that physical play certainly plays a part in preventing cognitive(认知的) falling.
Anyway, adding humor, laughter, and play to our life will influence us mentally, physically and socially and bring us many advantages. So we should make full use of humor, laughter and play to make our life more active, interesting and happier.
1.What does the underlined word "infectious" in Paragraph 2 probably mean
A.Playing an important role. B.Keeping people in high spirits.
C.Quickly influencing other people. D.Preventing illness from spreading.
2.What can laughter increase according to the author

C.A sense of humor. D.Happiness and trust.
3.What does the author think the old should do
A.They should have a good rest. B.They should play like children.
C.They should prevent cognitive falling. D.They should take part in physical play.
4.Which of the following would be the best title for the text
A.Humor, Laughter and Play for Health B.Always Keep Our Body Healthy
C.Have an Active and Happy Life D.Let Our Body and Mind Relax
D
As one of London's most well-known gardens, Hyde Park covers 142 hectares(公顷) and is one of the royal parks of London. The park is next to Kensington Gardens and together they cover 253 hectares.
Hyde Park was gained by Henry Ⅷ in 1536. Henry used the park for riding and hunting deer there. The parkland remained private until James I became the ruler in 1625 and allowed limited access(出入). It is worth noting that in 1866 Edmond Beales, president of the Reform League, paraded through Hyde Park to fight for manhood suffrage(男公民选举权). The group fought with police and took over Hyde Park. When the fight was over, the Prime Minister allowed meetings to take place unchallenged by the government. Since 1872, people have been allowed to speak in Hyde Park on any subject. Then Speakers' Comer gradually formed.

On a cold night, when I was a teenager, my father and I were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus. Finally there was only one family between us and the ticket counter.
This family made a big impression on me. There were eight children, all probably under the age of twelve. You could tell they didn't have a lot of money. Their clothes were not expensive, but they were clean, the children were well-behaved, all of them standing in line, two-by-two behind their parents, holding hands. They were excitedly talking about the clowns, elephants and other acts they would see that night with their brothers or sisters in a low voice. One could sense they had never been to the circus before. It promised to be a highlight of their young lives.
The father and mother were at the head of the pack, standing proud as they could be. The mother was holding her husband's hand, looking up at him as if to say, "You are my knight in shining armor." He was smiling and responding in pride, looking back at her as if to say, "You got that right." The ticket lady asked the father how many tickets he wanted. He proudly responded, "Please let me buy eight children's tickets and two adult tickets, so I can take my family to the circus."
The ticket lady gave the price. The man's wife let go of his hand, lowered her head and her lips began to shake. The father leaned a little closer and asked, "How much did you say " The ticket lady again told him the price. The man obviously didn't have enough money.
How was he supposed to turn and tell his eight children that he didn't have enough money to take them to the circus Actually we were not wealthy in any sense, so I understood how the kids would feel. I felt sorry for them.
Paragraph 1:
