The 3 Best Marvel Films-Ranked!
It seems that ranking films well is always a tough task. In the hearts of millions of fans, everyone has its own choice. Superhero films are even more so. Recently, The Guardian (卫报) has selected three of the most popular Marvel films.
No. 3 Blade Ⅱ (2002)
This film continues the story of an earlier 1998's Blade and is directed by Guillermo. The story once again concerns the mysterious daywalker, played by Wesley Snipes. It is an action film full of high technology and the fighting scenes Guillermo expresses are horribly exciting. Not a typical superhero film,, in many ways, but a great one:
No. 2 Black Panther (2018)
This superb film is an entertaining adventure, with a richer component of fantasy than the other Marvel films. The character of black panther is established as one of Marvel's greatest heroes. It is a big hit across the board. It also employs Rachel Morrison who is MCU's first woman cinematographer, a photographer who operates a movie camera. Marvel Studios' president, Kevin Feige, has promised to get more women writers and directors on board. So far, the only Marvel female writer is Nicole Perlman for Guardians of the Galaxy.
No. 1 Thor : Ragnarok (2017)
It is smart, visually exciting and perhaps above all, funny. And it's funny in a way that only Marvel films can be. It suggests that to some degree comedy can be an important part of the drama. Taika Waititi was an inspired choice as director. Hemsworth plays the role of Thor and Cate Blanchett plays Hela, the goddess of death who also happens to be Thor's half-sister.
1.According to The Guardian, which film ranks first
A.Blade II. B.Black Panther. C.Guardians of the galaxy. D.Thor: Ragnarok.
2.What do we know from the passage
A.Ranking superhero films is easy.
B.Blade II is a typical superhero film.
C.Nicole Perlman is the only Marvel female writer so far.
D.Taika Waititi, Hemsworth and Cate Blanchett act in one film.
3.What is the author's purpose in writing the passage
A.To introduce some superhero films. B.To advertise for some superhero films.
C.To comment on the Marvel's history. D.To advise people to learn from heroes.
B
Finding a mountain goat resting on a cliff (悬崖) might thrill many of the millions of tourists who visit Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park every year, but park officials say it might be time for the bearded animals to go.
The problem, according to the park, is that Grand Teton's 100 or so mountain goats threaten about 80 bighorn sheep. The bighorn sheep numbered as many as 125 just a few years ago. The strong goats spread disease and compete with bighorn sheep for food. Unlike small-sized bighorn sheep, Grand Teton's mountain goats aren't native to the park. They were introduced to the park in the 1960s.
Grand Teton spokeswoman Denise Germann said, "We've got a management responsibility to protect the native species. After hearing from the public on the proposal in January, park officials expect to decide as soon as mid-February on what to do about the mountain goats. "
The goats are reproducing rapidly. Now might be the best time to reduce the animals before they're too many to bring under control, according to the Park Service.
One wildlife biologist who studies bighorn sheep praised the proposal. "Mountain goats' original habitat is nowhere close to where they've been introduced in the U. S. to provide hunting opportunities," said Rob Roy Ramey II , with Nederland, Colorado-based Wildlife Science International, Inc.
"Wildlife managers should get rid of mountain goats not only in Grand Teton but elsewhere to help struggling bighorn sheep. Unfortunately, state wildlife agencies sell non-native wildlife viewing opportunities to the public," Ramey said. "This is not a zoo in the wilderness. It should really be for native wildlife. "
1.What can be learnt about the bighorn sheep in the park
A.Their size is huge. B.Their number is decreasing.
C.They arrived in the 1960s. D.They threaten local species.
2.How did the public help park officials protect the bighorn sheep
A.By providing suggestions. B.By driving away mountain goats.
C.By volunteering in the park. D.By taking over Grand Teton National Park.
3.What is Germann's attitude towards the bighorn sheep
A.Curious. B.Proud. C.Surprised. D.Concerned.
4.What was the purpose of bringing in mountain goats in the beginning
A.To offer hunting chances. B.To sell non-native wildlife.
C.To satisfy wildlife managers. D.To increase diversities of sheep.

How many different emotions do you think you can communicate to people with your face Do you have the same facial expressions as the people from different cultures Read this passage to find out what scientists have just discovered about this topic.
New research suggests that there are only four basic facial expressions of emotion. However, how these expressions are interpreted(解释) might depend on where you are from. Research by scientists from the Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Glasgow has challenged the traditional view of how the face expresses emotions. It was widely believed that six basic emotions (happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise and disgust) were expressed and recognized across different cultures. However, the University of Glasgow's work now suggests that the human face only has four basic expressions of emotion. This is because some pairs of emotions are impossible to distinguish(辨别). Fear and surprise, for example, both share wide open eyes. The facial expressions for anger and disgust also look the same.
So if our faces are only able to express four basic emotions, how do we communicate a much more complex(复杂的) kind of feeling The study found that the way expressions are interpreted is different in different cultures. However, while looking at how people from the East and West look at different parts of the face during facial expression recognition, scientists found that although there are some common features across cultures, the six basic facial expressions of emotion are not recognized universally.
What interests people about the cross-cultural aspect of the research This work leads to understanding which emotions we share and appreciating our differences.
1.What did the University of Glasgow find
A.Six basic emotions greatly influence our character.
B.Six basic emotions can be recognized.
C.It is easy to tell from the basic facial expressions.
D.Some of the six facial expressions are similar.
2.Which group may be the four basic facial expressions of emotion
A.Sadness, fear, anger and surprise. B.Anger, sadness, fear and happiness.
C.Happiness, surprise, sadness and fear. D.Disgust, happiness, anger and sadness.
3.What can we learn according to Paragraph 3
A.Basic facial expressions are not universal.
B.Facial expressions can't show complex feelings.
C.Western people have more kinds of facial expressions.
D.The way to express emotions changes with time.
4.Which is the proper title for the passage
A.What Does Your Face Say B.How Do We Communicate
C.What Are the Six Basic Emotions D.Do We Have the Same Expressions
D
We've all had the experience of wanting to get a project done but putting it off to a later date. So why do we delay things Are we built to operate this way at some times
These questions are central to my research on goal pursuit (追求). It all starts with a simple choice between working now on a given project and doing anything else. The decision to work on something is driven by how much we value accomplishing the project in that moment — what psychologists call its subjective value. And delay, in psychological terms, is what happens when the value of doing something else outweighs the value of working now.
This way of thinking suggests a simple trick to defeat delay. For example, instead of cleaning my house, I might try to focus on why grading papers is personally important to me. It's simple advice, but sticking to this strategy (策略) can be quite difficult.
People are not entirely wise in the way they value things. For example, a dollar bill is worth exactly the same today as it is a week from now, but its subjective value — roughly how good it would feel to own a dollar — depends on other factors besides its face value, such as when we receive it. The tendency for people to devalue money and other goods based on time is called delay discounting. For example, receiving $100 three months from now is worth the same to people as receiving $83 right now. People would rather lose $17 than wait a few months to get a larger reward.
Getting something done is a delayed reward, so its value in the present is reduced: the further away the deadline is, the less attractive it seems to work on the project right now. The tendency to delay things closely follows economic models of delay discounting. One way to manage it is to make the finish line seem closer. For example, vividly imagining a future reward reduces delay discounting.
1.Which of the following best explains "outweighs" in Paragraph 2
A.Is equal to. B.Is greater than. C.Is involved in. D.Is central to.
2.What should we do to overcome delay in the author's opinion
A.Avoid setting a deadline too strictly.
B.Consider doing nothing temporarily.
C.Increase the subjective value of working now.
D.Realize great fun of working immediately.
3.Which proverb can best summarize the theory of delay discounting
A.Time and tide wait for no man. B.A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
C.One of these days is none of these days. D.Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
4.What is suggested to deal with delay discounting
A.Asking for nothing in return. B.Lowering our high expectations.
C.Searching for instant satisfaction. D.Making future rewards more inviting.
4.What would be a suitable title for the text
A.The Skills Taught by My Former Coach B.The Transplant Given by the Same Doctors
C.My Baseball Team Helping Me Out D.My Coach's Spirits Shining on Me
Much of the work in today's world is accomplished(完成) in teams. Most people believe the best way to build a great team is to gather a group of the most talented individuals. ①_________ Companies spend millions hiring top business people. Is their money well spent
②_________ They focused on football, basketball and baseball. The results are mixed. For football and basketball, adding talented players to a team proves a good method, but only up to the point where 70% of the players are top talent; above that level, the team's performance begins to decline. Interestingly, this trend isn't evident in baseball, where additional individual talent keeps improving the team's performance.
To explain this phenomenon, the researchers explored the degree to which a good performance by a team requires its members to coordinate(协调) their actions. ③_________ In baseball, the performance of individual players is less dependent on teammates. They conclude that when task interdependence is high, team performance will suffer when there is too much talent, while individual talent will have positive effects on team performance when task interdependence is lower. If a basketball star is, for example, trying to gain a high personal point total, he may take a shot himself when it would be better to pass the ball to a teammate, affecting the team's performance. Young children learning to play team sports are often told, "There is no I in TEAM." ④_________
Another possibility is that when there is a lot of talent on a team, some players may make less effort. Just as in a game of tug-of-war(拔河比赛), whenever a person is added, everyone else pulls the rope with less force.
⑤_________ An A-team may require a balance—not just A players, but a few generous B players as well.
A. It's not a simple matter to determine the nature of talent.
B. Sports team owners spend millions of dollars attracting top talent.
C. The group interaction and its effect drew the researchers' attention.
D. Stars apparently do not follow this basic principle of sportsmanship.
E. Several recent studies examined the role of talent in the sports world.
F. Building up a dream team is more complex than simply hiring the best talent.
G. This task interdependence distinguishes baseball from football and basketball.

It was the middle of the day with the bright sun, blue sky, green grass, and a soft breeze(微风). It was a great day to play outside and the best day of my life because I got a new ball and a new bike as my sixth birthday presents, and I was visiting my cousin, Kristy, at her house.
"Here I go!" shouted David while kicking my new ball. David lived next door and was older than me. I thought he was a wild child, but he was actually very kind. The ball went flying as if it were going to space. "That was high!" Kristy said in surprise and we went after the ball. We all had a great time.
Later we had supper and the food my aunt made was good. While Kristy was helping do the dishes, David and I ran outside to play. We started taking turns riding my bike. David suggested that we ride it to the forest. And I agreed. David and I got on the bike and David started riding fast.
As we rode through the forest, I felt the wind brushing my face. It felt so great and free. Suddenly the bike hit a fallen branch and we went flying off the bike. Lying on the ground, I felt dizzy(眩晕的).I checked myself for injuries and saw some but they didn't upset me.
"David!" I shouted out anxiously.
"Hey," said a voice. I turned my head and it was David, who was standing behind me, holding my broken bike. At the sight of my disabled bike, I was so sad that I couldn't hold back my tears. It took David some time to calm me down.

根据No.2 Black Panther(2018)部分中的"So far, the only Marvel female writer is Nicole Perlman for Guardians of the Galaxy."
Superhero films are even more so. Recently, The Guardian has selected three of the most popular Marvel films."
根据第二段中的"...mountain goats threaten about 80 bighorn sheep."和"The bighorn sheep numbered as many as 125 just a few years ago."
After hearing from the public on the proposal in January..."
We've got a management responsibility to protect the native species."
根据第五段第二句中的"Mountain goats' original habitat...to provide hunting opportunities..."
However, the University of Glasgow's work...This is because some pairs of emotions are impossible to distinguish."
The decision to work on something is driven by how much we value accomplishing the project in that moment—what psychologists call its subjective value. And delay, in psychological terms, is what happens when the value of doing something else outweighs the value of working now."
The tendency...receiving $ 100 three months from now is worth the same to people as receiving $ 83 right now. People would rather lose $ 17 than wait a few months to get a larger reward." A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.(一鸟在手胜过双鸟在林"符合题干要求。
One way to manage it is to make the finish line seem closer. For example, vividly imagining a future reward reduces delay discounting."
There is no I in TEAM"和前文所举的体育明星的例子可知,空处所填内容与体育明星有关,而D项中的"this basic principle of sportsmanship"指的就是"There is no I in TEAM",故D项正确。
1-5 BACDA 6-10 BCADA 11-15 BCCDD
At 11 o'clock in the morning 故选A.
故选A.
故选A.
10.A get the hang of 表示 "掌握...
11.由空后的 warning them of the dangers of their careless behavior 可知是有行人想闯红灯.故选B.
13.根据下文中的 we kindly offered to help them 可知,当老人要过马路时, "我们" 主动上前帮助.
答案:①to sing②an③themselves④are uploaded⑤original⑥which⑦Inspired⑧performance⑨has become⑩on
故填are uploaded。
have a positive influence on... 故填on。
第三节
答案:
Dear Jim,
I'm so delighted to hear that you will come to China. I can't wait to see you here, and I'd like to tell you some table manners in China.
First, the main difference is that in the West, everyone has their own plate of food, while in China all people share the dishes placed on the table. Second, you' re supposed to eat with chopsticks. Maybe it's difficult for you. Remember not to point at anyone with chopsticks while eating. When eating noodles, it's bad manners to make noises. Third, please don't talk or laugh loudly because it can interrupt others. People here are quite friendly so that I am sure you will love it when you come here.
Looking forward to your coming.
Yours,
Li Hua
答案:
Paragraph 1:
When we realized it was time to walk home, we found ourselves lost. It was getting darker and darker. I felt so scared that tears rolled down my face again. David attempted to comfort me. He told me that he once made some marks on the trees in the forest, which might help us find the way home. Therefore, we made efforts to look for the marks but in vain. Having walked anxiously for about an hour in the forest, we failed to find our way out.
Paragraph 2:
It was completely dark when we saw fireworks(烟火) being set off in the distance. We ran excitedly in that direction as fast as possible. Soon we found my aunt’s house in front of which my cousin Kristy was holding some fireworks and lighting them. Seeing us come back safely, Kristy cheerfully hugged us. She told us that when noticing we had been away for long, she was concerned about our safety. She set off fireworks to draw our attention and guide us. It was an unforgettable experience. Without David’s comfort and Kristy’s fireworks I would have lost in the forest forever.
