Chinese food is considered to be the biggest cultural exchange between China and other countries. The following dishes are special each in their own way.
Peking Duck
This famous dish can be found at restaurants all around Beijing. High-class restaurants take this dish so seriously that some even have their own duck farms and use only a special kind of duck for their specific Peking Duck dish. Peking Duck is famous for its thin skin and delicious meat, which is highly popular among all foreigners, including foreign celebrities and leaders.
Wonton
Wonton, called "Huntun" in Chinese, is a highly appreciated dish in China. Since China is a country of many nationalities and different cultures, each region has their own shapes for wontons. Wontons are usually boiled and served in soup, but they can also be deep-fried.

During the Spring Festival, Chinese families will get together and have dumpling parties. It is said that the dish was invented by Zhang Zhongjing, one of the finest Chinese physicians in history. Dumplings have a 1,800-year-long history, which is why it is one of the most popular traditional foods in China and extremely popular in Western countries. They may be cooked by boiling, steaming, simmering, frying or baking.
Egg-fried Rice
Firstly from China's ancient western regions, egg-fried rice has now become part of Chinese people's daily food. It is famous for its pleasant smell, soft taste and handsome appearance, and one can easily find this popular dish anywhere in China, from high-class hotels to family-run restaurants on the street. While it is fairly easy to make, there are some points that should be kept in mind: use left-over rice rather than newly cooked rice for better taste. Additionally, before frying, the rice should be churned up.

I started out my career as an editor for a travel magazine. I didn't really mind the work, but I wanted something more challenging. My sister sent me some details about a content management position in a digital reading company. The job was a seemingly perfect mix of my skills and interests, so I jumped at it.
However, soon after I joined the company, its model changed to focusing on education, and everything about my position changed. I was asked to take on the completely different roles of selling the products to teachers and training people. I had no experience in sales, training or education. On top of that, I'm an introvert (内向的人). I felt more than a little outside my comfort zone.
I knew I wanted to grow as an individual and make a serious impact on the company. I told myself that everything felt overwhelming(令人不知所措的) at first and I should at least try. In a way, I felt like I didn't have a choice. I knew jumping out of the nest was the right thing for me, even though it felt pretty awful.
I was fortunate to be surrounded by very helpful people, both at work and at home. My best friend reminded me that I had taken huge leaps of faith in the past and told me I would pull through just fine. It also helped that my boss seemed to have more faith in my capabilities than I did. She never asked if I thought I could do it; she only asked if I was interested in trying.
I spent hours researching my company's products. I asked lots of questions and spoke to so many teachers and there were soon more good experiences than difficult ones. I looked for opportunities to put in extra effort. The more I did, the better I felt.
Over time, I discovered that the job was something I could do and liked doing. It was incredibly rewarding to see the company grow and know that I had something to do with its success. Sure, I made mistakes and took on more than I could handle. But I also learned that it's important to take risks and accept new opportunities, even when you're not sure whether you'll do well. I don't think there's anything worse than failing because you refuse to even try. I’m so glad I tried, and know I'll do it again.

3.How did the author finally manage to handle her job
A.She always had faith in her abilities.
B.Her boss guided her in her work step by step.
C.She made every effort to improve her work with the help of others.

4.The author wrote this article mainly to ________.
A.warn readers about the risks of changing jobs
B.give advice on how to step out of one's comfort zone
C.show off the success she has achieved

Beijing is no stranger to Western food. American restaurants like McDonald's and KFC have brought more Western dishes to the local food scene in recent years. Now, two new restaurants have joined them.
In August, Taco Bell and Shake Shack opened their doors to eager customers in Beijing. Taco Bell is a popular American fast food restaurant that features Mexican food. Hard and soft-shell tacos are a staple(招牌) of the menu; they are generally served with beef, lettuce and tomato. And of course there are burritos—chicken, beef or beans wrapped in a tortilla(墨西哥薄馅饼). However, there are new menu items that are special to the Beijing location, such as the Yang Berry Freeze and Avocado Oolong Tea.
Shake Shack, known for its traditional American-style hamburgers and milkshakes, is also serving up dishes that won't be found in branches outside of the capital. Harry Wang, who studied in the US, visited the restaurant soon after it opened. "The last time I had Shake Shack was more than a year ago when I was in the United States," Wang said. "The food is pretty similar to what we had in the United States, but there is a milkshake exclusive to Beijing."
The milkshake Wang referred to is the Hutong Hawthorn. The shake mixes hawthorn, a traditional Chinese snack, into a milkshake, a common ice cream drink in Western fast food. The Beijing Shake Shack also offers roasted chestnut ice cream.
Both restaurants also reflect elements of Chinese culture in their decorations. Shake Shack's windows feature cartoons showing hutong life, and Taco Bell has a picture of a palace from the Temple of Heaven on one of its walls.
From the design to the menus, the two restaurants are "adding a touch of local flavor", noted China News.

A.Special. B.Ordinary. C.Important. D.Acceptable.

B.They will probably have more customers than KFC.
C.They make changes to the menu for Chinese people's tastes.

A British friend told me he couldn’t understand why Chinese people love eating sunflower seeds (磕瓜子) as a snack so much. "I've met a lot of older Chinese and many have a crack in their front teeth; I believe that's from cracking the seeds," he said.
I had never noticed the habit, but once he mentioned it, I suddenly became more aware. I realized that whenever I'm watching TV or typing a report, I always start mindlessly cracking sunflower seeds. My friend doesn't like sunflower seeds, and, to him, it seems unnecessary to work so much just to get one small seed.
When we were young, the whole family would usually get together for Chinese New Year. Then, we all lived close to one another, usually in a small city, and sometimes even neighbours would go door-to-door on Chinese New Year's Eve to check out what every household was making.
I remember my parents would be in the kitchen cooking. Out in the living room, a large table would already be laid out, complete with fancy tablecloth, ready-made dumpling fillings, and dishes full of candy, fruits and sunflower seeds. Some of the dishes were to be offered to our ancestors later, while others were for neighbours and children to eat before the evening feast. I must have learned how to crack sunflower seeds back then.
I don't think it's right to criticize one's choice in food or eating habits, no matter how strange they may seem.
It's not only in China. When I went abroad, I found people had all sorts of strange habits when it came to food. In Denmark, they put salted red fish on bread and eat it for dinner, no matter how much it ruins your breath. They think it's a delicacy (美味佳肴), and it's connected to their certain culture. I think it's a wonderful tradition.
1.What did the writer become aware of
A.She had ever typed a report about seeds.
B.She had various snacks while watching TV.
C.She damaged her teeth by eating sunflower seeds.
D.She had a habit of cracking sunflower seeds.
2.What does the writer prove by mentioning Chinese New Year
A.The traditions of celebrating it disappear.
B.Eating sunflower seeds is related to it.
C.The families get together for it.
D.Children can eat delicious food on that day.
3.The writer's attitude to Denmark's way of eating bread is _________.
A.neutral(中立的) B.critical(批评的) C.acceptable D.doubtful
4.What lesson can we learn from the story
A.One kind of food doesn't necessarily suit everyone.
B.It is good to form healthy eating habits.
C.Eating habits come from a certain culture.
D.Changing your eating habits will change your life.

"Here I go!" shouted David while kicking my new ball. David lived next door and was older than me. I thought he was a wild child, but he was actually very kind. The ball went flying as if it were going to space. "That was high!" Kristy said in surprise and we went after the ball. We all had a great time.
Later we had supper and the food my aunt made was good. While Kristy was helping do the dishes, David and I ran outside to play. We started taking turns riding my bike. David suggested that we ride it to the forest. And I agreed. David and I got on the bike and David started riding fast.
As we rode through the forest, I felt the wind brushing my face. It felt so great and free. Suddenly the bike hit a fallen branch and we went flying off the bike. Lying on the ground, I felt dizzy(眩晕的).I checked myself for injuries and saw some but they didn't upset me.
"David!" I shouted out anxiously.
"Hey," said a voice. I turned my head and it was David, who was standing behind me, holding my broken bike. At the sight of my disabled bike, I was so sad that I couldn't hold back my tears. It took David some time to calm me down.

答案:
Paragraph 1:
When we realized it was time to walk home, we found ourselves lost. It was getting darker and darker. I felt so scared that tears rolled down my face again. David attempted to comfort me. He told me that he once made some marks on the trees in the forest, which might help us find the way home. Therefore, we made efforts to look for the marks but in vain. Having walked anxiously for about an hour in the forest, we failed to find our way out.
Paragraph 2:
It was completely dark when we saw fireworks(烟火) being set off in the distance. We ran excitedly in that direction as fast as possible. Soon we found my aunt’s house in front of which my cousin Kristy was holding some fireworks and lighting them. Seeing us come back safely, Kristy cheerfully hugged us. She told us that when noticing we had been away for long, she was concerned about our safety. She set off fireworks to draw our attention and guide us. It was an unforgettable experience. Without David’s comfort and Kristy’s fireworks I would have lost in the forest forever.
