Ladis and gentlemen, good afternoon, It’ my pleasure to be here to share my teacling designs and ideas with you .Today my topic is Grade 8,Unit 8.Section B(2a---3b) A country Music Song Changed Her Life Forever . I’m going to analyse the lesson in 6 parts .Let’s begin with Part1.
Part I Analysis of Teading material
First ,Teaching Content analysis
In this lesson, students will go on learning to talk about recent events and experiences.by doing some reading and writing practice .There are 6 parts in this lesson .2b is a reading article about “a Country Music song changed her life forever” 2c is some questions based on 2b. 2d is a summary of the passage .2e is something about country music ,3a is a an oral practice and 3b is an open-ended writing practice .This content is not only consolidation of Section A,but also an extension practice for training students’ ability of reading ,writing and language using
Next , Teaching Aims
The first one is knowledge aims :In this lesson,the students should learn to talk about recent events and experinences .They will also learn some new words
Then, ability aims : Students will use the target langvage to read an article ,So training students’ abilities of reading and writing is for more important
.For the aims of moral education: The topic related to everyone’s daily life ,It tells us to love music and enjoy our life.
The important point of this lesson is to train the ability of reading .
The dofficu’t point is to write a passage about his /her favorite singer
Part II Analysis of students
As a teacher ,I deeply know that If I want to teach my students well ,I must know them well first ,The topic in this lesson is closely related to their life ,so they must be interested in the class ,However ,reading and writing are a little diffcutt for them ,maybe they will feel nervous to do these ,My job is to turn the difficult one into the easy and interesting one ,..
Part III Teching methods ,
It’s recognized that reading is a very direct and quick way to get information ,It’s an essential ability for language learning ,Meanwhile ,writing is a way of giving information .These two skills are connected tightly together. Reading material is s source of writing ,a showroom of language phenomenon,and an analysis room of grammar rules ,We can say reading is writing .So teachers can use the reading material in the text books to teach the students how to write, to use the reading strategies into writing practice .So In this lesson I’d like to use Task-based Language Teaching ,learner-Centered Teaching and Multi –Media Computer system to teach the students how to read for information and how to write by reading .For task-based language teaching,I’ll give students some tasks ,sach as discuss and write a report .where students are the executers of the task and beneficial owners of the task .And in order to make my lesson lively and interesting ,I’ll use multi—media computer system to arouse students intersts
Part IV Learning strategies.
I prefer to cultivate students’ ability of context reading ,word –meaning guessing and cooperation In this lesson I’ll ask students to guess the meaning of the new words according to the class activities and cooperate with others. As a teacher ,my duty is not only to teach students a language but also tell them the way of learning .It’s better to teach them fishing than to give them fish,

Step1 Pre—reading
Warming up :first I’ll let the students enjoy an English song “Take me home ,country road” It was made by John Denver . This is a country music song. After singing it ,I’ll ask students to
Discuss the questions
1.Do you have a favorite singer or band ?
2.Do you have a favorite song ?
3.What facts do you know about your favorite singer ,band or song ?
Then ask students Do you believe that a country music song can Change people’s lives
Next, ask students to predict the main idea according to the title and the picture
( Purpose of my designing:The topic is related to the students lives . They must be interested in it and the interesting song can help arouse students interest . In the mean time ,the article can be transmitted naturally )
Skimming
Ask students to read the passage quickly to find the main idea
First ,I’ll ask students to read is quickly and answer How many paragraphs ?Then ask them to divide it into two parts ,Part 1 is introduce Sarah . Part 2 is introduce country music .
(Purpose of my designing:This step will help students get the brief information of the passage and cultivate their abilityof fast –reading )
3, scanning
I’ll ask students to read the passage more slowly and more carefully to make the country Music Fact Sheet full .
( Purpose of my designing:This activity will make students get the dcfails of the material and have a better understanding ,And this is also presenting a spelific strategy of writing .
4.Careful Reading
Ask students to read the passage carefully, then underline the main ideas .Then use the underlined text to write short answers to the questions below

Step 3 Post –reading
students should listen and read aloud ,Reading aloud can reinforce the language sense and help form fixed thinking patterns .
students should retell the article according to the frames ,
It’s a summarizing of this article .Retelling is not reciting .but a creation which bases on understanding ,It’s good for the students to improve their ability of imagination ,thinking and expressing .Retelling is a bridge between reading and writing .
After retelling ,ask students to write a short Summary of the passage
Step 4 writing
1.work in pairs
(Ask students to think of a singer or writer you know well . Make a list of facts about him/her .Write a passage about the singer or writer .
(Purpose of my designing:This writing practice is employed to train students’ writing ability and help them build language accuracy )
Step5 Homework
1 Ask students to fiinish the task of self check.
2.ask students to know more about country music.
(Purpose of my designing:Ithink homework is so important that the students should speak English as much as they can in class or after class.It is necessary for the students to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.)

singers, like Garth Brooks. Sarah has already listened to most of his songs. “Garth is one of the most successful musicians in American history. He’s sold more than 120 million records. I hope to see him sing live one day.
