smell n. 气味;嗅觉
eg: Elephants have poor eyesight, but very good hearing and smell.
smell 作系动词,“有……气味,发出……气味”,后接形容词作表语。
The cheese cake smells so good that I can’t wait to eat it.
smell 作及物动词,“闻到,嗅到(气味)(smelt/smelled)
I smelt something burning.我闻到什么东西烧焦了。

doubt n. 意为“疑问;疑惑”
eg: Without doubt, she is one of the best teachers in the school.
v. 怀疑
I doubt whether/if the new one will be any better.
I don’t doubt that he will come tomorrow. 我肯定他明天会来。
