省略了that的宾语从句,从句使用被动语态
allow 动词,意为“允许,准许”。常用于下列结构中:
allow sb. to do sth. 允许某人做某事
e.g. The teacher allowed him to go into the classroom.
allow doing sth. 允许做某事
e.g. We don’t allow smoking in public.
be allowed to do sth. 被允许做某事
e.g. Passengers are not allowed to smoke.

主语+seem to do sth. 好像
e.g. His temperature seems to be all right.
seem的其他用法:
(1) seem+形容词/名词
e.g. The question seems quite easy.
That seems a good idea.
(2) It seems + that 从句
e.g. It seemed that nobody knew anything about the matter.
3. I’m worried about your safety.
safety是不可数名词,意为“安全;安全性”。
safe adj.安全的,平安的,无害的(unsafe)
safe and sound 安然无恙
eg: Now people hope to eat healthily and begin to care about the safety of food.
eg: When you finish using the shared bike, don’t forget to park and lock it properly—for everybody’s safety.

get one’s ears pierced 意为“打耳洞”
此处get为使役动词,相当于make和have,“使,让”。
