A month before my first marathon, one of my knees was hurt and this meant not running for two weeks, leaving me only two 96 to train. Yet, I was determined to go ahead.

The night before my marathon, I dreamt that I couldn’t even find the finish line. I woke up nervous, but ready to show 101 to myself.
Shortly after crossing the start line, my shoe laces went loose, 102 I had to stop to manage. Not the start I wanted but I would never 103 this chance.
At mile 3, I passed a sign: “GO FOR IT, RUNNERS!”
By mile 17, I became out of breath and the once wounded knee hurt badly. 104 resting, I continued the race. I walked 105 a bit and then ran again.
By mile 21, I was so tired and 106 that I could even eat a horse!
As I was reaching mile 23, I could hear my wife cheering me on at the finish line. “I can do it!” I 107 myself.
I was one of the final runners, but I 108 ! And I got a medal. In fact, I got the same medal as the one that the guy who came in first place had.
Determined to be myself, shake off shame and 109 others labeled me, move forward. I can now call myself a “marathon 110 ”.
