used to结构意为“过去经常;以前常常”,表示过去的习惯性动作或经常性状态,可用于各种人称,后接动词原形。如:
Amy used to listen to music.
You used to be short, but now you’re tall.
used to结构的否定形式有两种:didn’t use to或usedn’t to (只用于英式英语)。如:The Whites didn’t use to live here. / The Whites usedn’t to live here.
used to结构在构成疑问句时,可借助助动词did,也可将used提到主语前(只用于英式英语)。如:

such为形容词:这(那)样的;主要修饰名词;
so是副词:这(那)么;如此地,主要修饰形容词或副词。

He can draw so well. 他画得那么好。
当名词前有many,much,few或little等词修饰时,要用so而不用such。
e.g. There are so many / few people in the hall. 大厅有这么多/这么少的人。
You have so much / little homework today. 你今天有这么多/这么少的作业。
“such + a / an +形容词+可数名词单数 形式”相当于“so +形容词+a / an +可
数名词单数形式”,表示“如此……的一个……”。
e.g. She is such a lovely girl. = She is so lovely a girl.

选用such或so填空。

v.-ing形式作主语,谓语动词用单数第三人称形式。
because 引导的原因状语从句。其中又含有there be 句型。该句型中,be的单复数要与其后的名词(作主语)在数方面保持一致。

require当“需要”讲时,它的后面常接名词或v.-ing形式。
require sth. / require doing sth.

require当“要求”讲时,它的后面常跟动词不定式的复合结构或that从句(从句谓语用“should +动词原形”,其中should可以省略)。
require sb. to do sth. / require + that从句
e.g. The job will require you to use all your computer skills.
这项工作要求你能使用计算机技术。
We require that you clean the meeting room.
我们要求你打扫会议室。
【注意】
require doing sth. “需要(被)…… ”,含有被动的意思,相当于require to be done。
e.g. These desks and chairs require repairing. = These desks and chairs require to be repaired.
【拓展】
require可用于被动语态,但不用于进行时态。
e.g. The children are required to wait in line outside the classroom.

一、used to 的用法
