I had a picnic one day with my sister. We both like to ride her motorcycle and that day we rode it to the nearest park. We bought some coffee and cakes, and then we enjoyed our food. Within a few hours, the sky changed and looked ready for a heavy rain. We packed everything and were ready to go. My sister, who was sitting on a bench then, suddenly was very still and couldn't talk to me. She couldn't move. Her eyes were rolling and she was about to lose consciousness (知觉). I held her in my arms and asked if she wanted to rest. She didn't answer and only said "Sorry".
It started to rain and I didn't know what to do. She was fighting to stay aware but her skin was pale and her eyes were acting strangely. Suddenly, from nowhere, a woman on a bicycle appeared, wearing a raincoat. "She isn't looking good. Do you want me to call an ambulance (救护车) " "Yes, please, yes!" I begged.
She did. Struggling with the rain, she managed to call some policemen, who quickly helped me carry my sister to a safer place. The ambulance arrived and we went to a hospital, where she was treated in time and she came to life the next morning after some rest and medical help.
An interesting fact was that I guessed the woman in the raincoat was a doctor or a nurse. I later learnt from one of the police officers who told me: "No. She was an ordinary person who took some courses on emergency situations (紧急情况)."
I am so grateful that she appeared exactly at the right moment. I don't know why or how. I didn't even get the chance to say thanks to her.

You're walking around and a thought occurs: "I should check my phone." The phone comes out of your pocket. You type a message. Then your eyes remain glued to the screen even when you walk across the street. We all do this kind of distracted walking, or "twalking."
Why are we so addicted to it People are, by nature, information-seeking creatures. When we regularly check our phones, we are snacking on information from devices that offer an all-you-can-eat buffet of information. And in some ways, smartphones were designed to be irresistible To information-seeking creatures.
However, at what point is this considered addiction
Not all constant phone use was considered addictive, said Steven Sussman, a professor at the University of Southern California. External pressures, like a demanding job, could force people to frequently check their phones. But when people check their devices just to enhance their mood, this could be a sign of a developing problem.
Another signal of addictive behavior is becoming preoccupied with smartphone use when you should be doing something else. An even clearer indicator is what "happens when the phone is taken away.
"Let's say you go out to the mountains and you don't get reception, so you can't use a smartphone," Dr. Sussman said. "Do you feel a sense of relief Or do you feel, wow, I want to get out of these mountains—I want to use the smartphone. If you feel the latter, that's toward the addictive direction."
Jim Steyer, the chief executive of Common Sense Media, said there needed to be a broad public awareness campaign over the dangers of walking and texting in parallel with distracted driving. "You have distracted pedestrians and distracted drivers, so it's the double whammy," he said. "Tech addiction hits in both ways."

B. When we use the smartphones, we are in a bad mood.
C. When smartphones are taken away, we are anxious to find them.

4. What can be reflected from Jim Stever's words
A. Distracted driving is more dangerous than twalking.
B. Twalking brings more dangers than distracted driving.
C. The number of twalking people is equal to distracted drivers.
D. Twalking and distracted driving deserve more public concern.

Last summer, over 12,000 fans packed London's Wembley Arena. Thousands more watched online, shouting and cheering. Were they watching soccer No, they were watching e-sports or competitive PC gaming.
Millions of people in the UK play PC games for fun. Some of them have become professionals, playing games as their full-time job. The prize at the Wembley event totaled 3 million pounds. It's not easy being a professional gamer, though. They practice for 10 or more hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week. They do exercises like typing something and then trying to type it faster and faster. They also study videos of other players and plan ways to beat them.
Many people who play games also enjoy watching them. They often watch games on video sites like Twitch and YouTube, and in the UK there's even a TV channel showing e-sports 24 hours a day. Matches can be exciting to watch. Just like in other sports, there are close games, last-minute victories and creative strategies (策略). Sometimes online viewers can interact with the players through instant messaging. For example, some supporters rename characters in the game with the names of their biggest supporters.
But are e-sports really sports Are the players athletes It's easy to say, "No Way!" After all, professional gamers don't need to run, jump or throw a ball. At the moment, the UK government classifies e-sports as a kind of game, not as a sport. But many people think that e-sports are sports. They say that players do need physical skills, especially hand-eye coordination(协调),quick action, accuracy and timing. In fact, the governments of China and South Korea do classify e-sports as sports and professional gamers will soon be able to compete for medals at the 2022 Asian Games.
For many e-sports fans and players, though, the most important thing is that e-sports are growing in popularity and reputation. If e-sports are not important at the moment, they probably will be soon.

A. The fun of playing e-sports.
B. The popularity of e-sports in the UK.
C. How e-sports are different from traditional sports.

3. What do many people believe e-sports are sports
A. They inspire people as much as other sports.
B. They share rules and strategies with other sports.
C. It takes players time and money to learn and practice.
D. Players need to develop physical skills to perform well.
4. What is the author's attitude toward the future of e-sports

We went to Darjelling during the summer holidays and booked a cottage(农舍)for our stay. Our cook Gopi came with us because we could not do without home-cooked meals.
Usually all the shopping was done by our home help Bharat, who went to our holiday destination with us. However, one early evening, my mother decided to do all the vegetable shopping by herself. She believed that Bharat did not wait to check the really fresh items and instead, bought some things in a hurry. As a result, the vegetables he brought back were not fresh.
After getting ready, she took her favorite purse with quite an amount of money, thinking she could go to other shops too after finishing at the vegetable market. My mother asked Bharat to get a rickshaw for her and on reaching the market, she asked the rickshaw wallah (人力车车夫) to wait for her. She took a coolie (小工) and did her shopping happily, choosing some of the freshest green vegetables available there. At last, her shopping was done. She returned to the rickshaw and sat on it while the coolie put all the things my mother had bought onto the rickshaw.
On reaching home, Bharat Took all the packets of vegetables inside and my mother quickly paid the rickshaw wallah and got off, forgetting to collect her purse from the seat of the rickshaw. The rickshaw wallah left soon after saying goodbye to my mother. All of us greeted my mother and asked her about her evening of shopping with much delight.
Then we began to help my mother prepare our dinner. My father came to help cut the meat; I helped wash the vegetables; we were talking and laughing. When dinner was ready, it was late in the evening, almost 9 p. m.

故填has been held。
故填after。
a total of为固定搭配,意为"总共"。故填A。
compare…to...
an opportunity to do sth 故填to change。

第二节
答案:
Then my mom realized her purse was missing. She looked everywhere for it and suddenly remembered that after paying the rickshaw wallah, she kept the purse on the seat before getting off. She had forgotten to pick up her purse which contained a lot of money. When my father came to know about this, he said that it was too late to look for the rickshaw wallah. We all decided that it was better to forget it. Mom felt sad and worried while sitting for dinner.
We were just about to begin eating when the door bell rang. Bharat opened the door and called my mother to see who it was. To our surprise, it was the poor rickshaw wallah standing at our entrance with a big smile on his weather-beaten face. He had the purse in his hand. He explained that he had returned to the market before he realized what had happened. When my mother opened the purse, she found all the cash in it. We wanted to reward the lovely man but he smiled and said, "Madam, I'm poor but not a thief" and went away quickly.
