1. My name’s Gina. 我的名字叫吉娜。
My name’s … 我的名字叫/是…… 是自我介绍时的常用句型,相当于“I am…”. name’s是name is的缩写形式。英美国家的人在询问对方的姓名之前,习惯上先说出自己的姓名,以表示自己愿意和对方相识,显得很有礼貌。本句型也可以用来回答“What’s your name ”。
e.g. My name’s Mary. 我的名字叫玛丽。

– My name’s Bob. 我的名字叫鲍勃。
2. I’m Jenny. 我是珍妮。
I’m… 我是……
I’m是I am的缩写形式,其中am是连系动词be的一种形式。 I’m…=My name’s…,前者更随意。
e.g. I am Mary. (=My name’s Mary.) 我是玛丽。
I’m your teacher. 我是你的老师。

这是询问某人姓名的特殊疑问句,句中What’s 是What is的缩写形式。该句型后面可以加上please, 表示客气、礼貌。其答语可用三种形式:
① My/ His/ Her name’s name is +姓名.
② I’m / I am/ He is/ She is+姓名.
③ 姓名.
e.g. – What’s your name, please 请问你叫什么名字?
– My name’s Tony./ I’m Tony. Tony. 我叫托尼。
your pron. 你的;你们的 不能单独使用,后须接名词(短语)
其对应的人称代词主格形式是you, “你;你们”。

本句中and起引入话题的作用。翻译时,and可以根据实际情况而定,也可以不译。

① 你是……吗?
询问对方是谁,其肯定答语为/“Yes, I am.” (此时I 和am不能缩写),否定答语为“No, I’m not.”。
e.g. – Are you Cindy 你是辛迪吗?
– Yes, I am. / No, I’m not. 是的,我是。/ 不, 我不是。
这时,Are you… 与Is your name… 同义,但后者的答语为“Yes, it is.”或“No, it isn’’t.”。
② 你们是……吗?
当对方是多人时可用此句式。此时肯定答语应为“Yes, we are. (是的,我们是)” ,否定答语为“No, we aren’t. (不,我们不是)”。
e.g. –Are you Tim and Tom 你们是蒂姆和汤姆吗?
– Yes, we are. 是的,我们是。
此时,Are you… = Are your names… ,但后者的答语为“Yes, they are. 或“No, they aren’t.”。
8. – Is he Jack 他是杰克吗?
– No, he isn’t. 不,他不是。
is he… 他是……吗?
其肯定答语为“Yes, he is.”, 否定答语为“No, he isn’t.”。当问的人物为女性时,问句用“Is she… 她是……吗?”,其肯定答语为“Yes, she is.”,否定答语为“No, she isn’t.”.
e.g. – Is he / she a student 他/ 她是一名学生吗?
–Yes, he/ she is. / No, he/ she isn’t . 是的,他/她是。/不,他/她不是。
辨析 no与not
no用作否定的回答,与yes为反义词。
not用于把词或语句变为相反的意思,与系动词be等构成否定形式,如am not, is not / isn't, are not / aren't。

一、be动词的一般现在时用法
1. be动词的一般现在时有三种形式,分别为am, is, are,它随主语的变化而变化。
2. 含有be 动词的陈述句结构如下:
肯定句:主语+ am / is / are +其他.
否定句:主语+ am / is / are + not +其他.
以be动词开头的一般疑问句的结构:Am / Is / Are +主语+其他 肯定答语为“Yes, 主语(人称代词)+ am / is / are.”;
否定答语为“No, 主语(人称代词)+ am / is / are + not.”。
【注意】
在否定句或否定答语中,am / is / are可以和主语(人称代词)进行缩写,is / are可以和not 进行缩写,但am与not 不能缩写。

英文姓名小常识
在英文中first name (也叫given name)是名字; last name (也称作family name/surname)则代表家族的姓氏。full name指全名,包括姓和名。
西方姓名:名在前, 姓在后。

中国姓名:姓在前, 名在后。英文直接用拼音表示, 姓与名分开写, 姓与名的第一个字母都要大写。
