一、导入
1.The teacher shows a map of West municate and introduce to students :What’s this Yes, it’s a map of the West Lake. I’m from Beijing. It’s in the north of China.
2.Asking students questions:Where are you from Where is it on the map
二、新授
1.Show Simon's picture and ask a question:Who is he Where is he from
2.Show a map of the United States. Asking questions:This is a map of America, Can you find New York Guide students to find the location of New York on the map.
3.标注east, west, south,north。老师领读。
我说你做:Turn to the north. Turn to the south. Turn to the east. Turn to the west.
4.Play the recording and have students listen while looking at the map of Activity 1. Write the names of several American cities and surrounding countries mentioned in the recording on the blackboard to help students understand. Play the recording again and have the students follow. America, New York, San Francisco, Haikou, Harbin, Shanghai
5.Lead students to learn methods of expressing geographical location。

一、Review
Review words, phrases, and directional words through three slides。
二、presentation
1.Find the location of West Lake by looking at a map of China,the West Lake西湖
2.Guide the text first, then explain it:
(1) —Where’s +地点? …在哪里?问地点的句型。
—It’s+方位短语。
(2)directional phrase:in the east in the west in the south in the north
3.Practise.Practice repeatedly based on the map,Where’s …?It’s …?
三、practise
1.Look at a map of the United States and learn the pronunciation of two places:
San Francisco 旧金山 Houston 休斯顿
2.By observing the map, roughly understand the locations of three locations, and then introduce the text。
3.Read the text once, then the students will familiarize themselves with the text and translate it。
讲解:(1)What a +形容词+名词!例:What a clever cat!
(2)And what about…?那么…怎么样?
4.Collaborate in groups, read the text aloud in different roles within the group, and present it to the group。
