宾语从句是指在句中作宾语的从句(用一个句子充当宾语)。
宾语从句
宾语从句结构:主句+引导词+宾语从句
I know Linda.

I know that Linda is a teacher.

把两个句子合并成一个宾语从句。
1.“The water festival is really fun.” I know.
2.“April is the hottest month in Thailand.” I believe.
3.“The races were not that interesting to watch.”Bill thinks.
4.“They will be back next year to watch the races.”Bill and Maria

当宾语从句由陈述句变化
而来时用that引导,that无具体意义,
常在口语中省略。
主句的谓语动词常见有
know、 believe、 think 、tell等。
主现从便
1.“Will they have the races again next year?”I wonder.
2.“Is June a good time to visit Hong Kong?”I wonder.
I wonder if/whether they will have the races again next year.
I wonder if/whether June is a good time to visit Hongkong.
当宾语从句由一般疑问句变化而来时,用if或whether引导,意为“是否”,不能省略。
从句要用陈述句语序。
(注意:用于不定式之前、介词之后或与or not连用时用whether,而不用if。)
主句的谓语动词,常见有wonder、 want to know、 don’t know、 ask等。

当宾语从句由特殊疑问句变化而来时,可用相应的特殊疑问词引导。

主句是一般过去时,宾语从句也常用相应的过去的某种时态,即主过从过。
也就是说从句的时态不受主句限制,还用一般现在时,即主过从现。
但从句是客观事实或客观真理时除外。

疑问词引导的宾语从句
1. 关联词
由原来的疑问词what, who, which, when, where, how, why等作为引导宾语从句的关联词,这些词在宾语从句中充当一定的句子成分,都有各自的含义,不能省略。
2. 语序
疑问词引导的宾语从句要用陈述句语序。
3. 主从句的时态
主句若是现在时,疑问词引导的宾语从句的时态随句意而确定;主句若是过去时,疑问词引导的宾语从句的时态也用过去的某种时态(宾语从句表示客观真理除外)。
