Did you know that tea, the most popular drink in the world (after water), was invented by accident Many people believe that tea was first drunk about 5,000 years ago. It is said that a Chinese ruler called Shen Nong was the first to discover tea as a drink . One day ShenNong was boiling drinking water over an open fire. Some leaves from a tea plant fell into the water and remained there for some time. It produced a nice smell so he tasted the brown water. It was quite delicious, and so, one of the world’s favorite drinks was invented.
A few thousand years later, Lu Yu, “the saint of tea”, mentioned Shen Nong in his book Cha Jing. The book describes how tea plants were grown and used to make tea. It also discusses where the finest tea leaves were produced and what kinds of water were used.
It is believed that tea was brought to Korea and Japan during the 6th and 7th centuries. In England, tea didn’t appear until around 1660, but less than 100 years, it had become the national drink. The tea trade from China to Western countries took place in the 19th century. This helped to spread thepopularity of tea and the tea plant to more places around the world. Even though many people now know about tea culture, the Chinese are without doubt the ones who best understand the nature of tea.

单元主题意义 本单元的主题属于“人与社会 ”范畴,本单元是《新目标英语》系列教材之一!第六单元的内容,本单元的学习使学生了解一些发明的历史、用途以及历史上的发明对人类生活的影响,从而激发学生创造发明的欲望。

教学反思与改进 阅读板块活动进展顺利,首席按通过图片介绍背景知识,呈现词汇,然后通过设问学生通过快速阅读、细读文章回答与茶叶有关的细节问题,逐渐获取语篇信息。并能口笔头进行表达完成词汇和语言结构的巩固练习。语法聚焦方面,在被动语态的教学上虽然事前考虑到学生理解被动语态的难度,给学生提供了例句供学生观察,并设计了情景帮助学生理解记忆,但是由于学生在不熟悉句子基本结构的情况下,搞不清楚句子成分,导致很多同学无法正确使用使用被动语态。另外让学生做观察总结练习时,未能给学生充分的时间思考,强行往下进展,影响了教学效果。
