1. must not
(1) mustn't 不准,不许,表禁止。
e. g. You must not smoke here.你不准在这儿吸烟。
(2) needn't 不必,常用于 must 的否定回答。
e. g.——Must I hand in my homework now 我必须现在交作业吗
——No, you needn't.不,你不必。
2. ask sb. to do sth.
ask sb. to do sth.要求某人做……, to do sth.为带to 的动词不定式作宾补。
e. g. Our Chinese teacher asks us to study hard.我们语文老师要我们努力学习。
ask sb. not to do sth.要求某人不要做……
e. g. My father asks me not to be late for school.我父亲要求我上学不要迟到。
知识拓展
常见的跟带 to 的动词不定式作宾补的动词有:tell, order, invite等
e. g. My parents tell us not to play in the street.我父母叫我不要在街上玩。
3. give up
give up 放弃，后跟名词，动名词作宾语。
e. g. You shouldn't give up running.你不应放弃跑步。
4. show
show 及物动词,意为“出示,显示”。

(2) It shows that +从句,证明……,显示……
