London is a popular place for families with kids of all ages. You can entertain your children with one of these great activities.
Conquer an escape room
Phone: 798-2382
ClueQuest, an "escape the room"-style game, is great fun. Once locked inside a room, you have an hour to find a way out. You have to work as a team to solve the puzzles, and your children need to be over nine years old to truly understand some of the challenges.
Dine at a stylish restaurant
Phone: 785-7051
The restaurant where you dine with kids has to be cool. Try Inamo in Soho, where you order your meal through the projection(投影) on the table. Instead of reading about your food, each dish is projected onto the table so that you can get a much better idea of what your meal will look like.
Try liquid nitrogen(液态氨) ice cream
Phone: 788-4284
Ice cream is not just for small kids, especially liquid nitrogen ice cream. It is a special treat. Want to try it in London Go to Soho or Shoreditch, where it's made on the spot. It's impressive to watch it being made for you and photos are allowed.
Join a street art walking tour

A couple of years ago I graduated from art school. After graduation I was unsure of what to do with my degree. I had majored in Illustration(插画专业) and loved it, but didn't really feel interested in doing illustrations for any companies. This left me with few options other than freelance(自由职业的) jobs and nannying.
I spent two years working as a nanny doing freelance illustrations on the side. It just wasn't quite enough to pay rent, but I loved it, so I worked well over 50 hours a week, trying to keep up with both.
Just under a year ago I went to a friend's wedding. I couldn't think of a gift for them and really didn't have a lot of money to spare so I used my talents to create a portrait for them. It wasn't much, but I hoped it would be a good gift. When I handed the portrait to them and they unwrapped it, the looks on their faces were something I did not expect. There were joyful tears in their eyes as they cried, “That's us! This is so beautiful!”
It's funny because when I was in art school my least favourite portraits were always assignment. I hated drawing people and was always so much more interested in drawing little furry creatures. Once I saw the looks on my friends' faces after giving them their portrait, it was all over. I suddenly loved portraits and wanted to do more.
I now take portraits to every wedding I go to and have given them as gifts to the families I nannied for. Every time the reaction makes all of the hard work and time I put into them so worth it.
I've just started offering couple, family and pet portraits as an item on my Etsy shop.

One painting printed with the new technology is Gustav Klimt's The Kiss (Lovers). It is a popular attraction at the Belvedere Museum in Vienna, Austria. The painting shows a man and a woman standing in a field filled with flowers. They wear gold robes(礼袍) and have their arms around each other. The man leans down to kiss the woman.
Klimt finished the painting in 1908. Until now, people who have trouble seeing cannot appreciate the artwork. But thanks to the reproduction they can touch the piece and feel the ridges(隆起) and depressions. Andreas Reichinger started making 3-D versions of artworks in 2010. He said this reproduction was his most difficult project because the couple's robes are so detailed.
Dominika Raditsch is a blind museum visitor. She touched the reproduction. As she moved her hands around it, she said, "Exactly, can you see these There are so many details." Raditsch said she could imagine what the original painting looked like when she touched the reproduction. "It's somehow round. You can feel it. And in many places it's so smooth. And then I think to myself: it probably shines too!" Raditsch said.
The Belvedere is not the only museum to have 3-D versions of its artworks. Some of the pieces at the Prado Museum, in Madrid, Spain, have reproductions that can be touched. But the piece in Vienna has one special part: it is made with widely available 3-D printing technology. That means one day, blind art fans anywhere in the world will download the source files and print the reproductions themselves.

My daughter is out of the ordinary. Three years ago, halfway through college, my 22-year-old daughter dropped out and became a farmer in Vermont. Next stop was California, where she raised goats. Now she is in Costa Rica, where she manages a wellness retreat center. But I've learned to let go and accepted that her choices are not mine.
As I've seen how my daughter has chosen to live her life, I've thought hard about my own, especially the part about jumping off the set path. Over time my job had become less fulfilling(令人有成就感的). As I looked at what I wanted to accomplish in the last years of my working life, this wasn't it. So I prepared carefully and left my job.
To celebrate my new freedom, my daughter and I had decided to meet in Arizona the week after my job ended. We went to the Shaman's Cave. At the top of it, the road became narrow. I stepped onto the path behind my daughter and looked down at the canyon floor, about 10 billion feet below. I walked backward, my heart beating fast. Sitting down hard on a rock, I started to cry, the fear becoming more serious.
My daughter sat beside me, soothed me and promised not to leave my side. She sang quietly, encouraging me to breathe deeply. Then, after sitting quietly for a while, I took my courage and followed her.
I know that my cry that day was less about the drop of the mountain and more about the drop I'd just made in my life. Leaving my job hit me at some point. Luckily, my daughter was there. From that day on, I saw my daughter in a new way. I began to learn to appreciate her.

D. She hoped to spend more time with her daughter.

A. It gave her courage to face challenges. B. It helped her find the meaning of life.
C. It brought her daughter and her closer. D. It changed her view of her daughter.

John was crazy about playing basketball. Every day after school, he would spend much time practicing basketball skills. Sometimes, he didn't go back home until sunset, which made his mother extremely angry. One day, as he was given a chance to watch a basketball game, he dreamed about being a member of the college basketball team the next year. On the way home, he was delighted secretly. He thought no one in the world was luckier than him. Suddenly, a car hit him. What a terrible experience! It seemed like a bad dream.
John woke up in a hospital room. He was frightened to death. He realized that he couldn't move both of his legs. At that time, the doctor came in. When the doctor told him that both his legs were broken and he had to sit in the wheelchair for the time being, he knew his college basketball dream was over. He was really depressed. John followed what the doctors had told him, but it did not work entirely. When he left the hospital, John was sent to a health recovery center. He had never heard of this center before, but it was not far away from his house. Although he felt unwilling to go there, he had no choice but to accept the fact.
A week later, he arrived there unhappily. The first person he met was Sunny Chen, who was so kind and friendly that he warmly welcomed John to go there. Sunny's legs were badly hurt in a skating accident. He told John that he would help him recover soon. Though Sunny couldn't move his legs, he became the coach of a basketball team called the Suns. After a period of recovery training, John felt his legs were all right. So Sunny invited him to join the game. Sunny guided the team on his wheelchair. John played badly, but for the first time since the accident, he stopped feeling sorry for himself.
