Today my topic is Part A of Unit4 of PEP primary English Book 1.My topic idea will be divided into 9 parts:
1 Analysis of the teaching material
2 Analysis of students
3 Teaching and learning methods
4 Teaching aims
5 Key points and difficult points
6 Teaching aids
7 Teaching procedures
8 Blackboard design
9 Teaching reflection
Now, firstly ,let me talk about the first part the analysis of the teaching material. This content is from Book1.Unit4 My home. The main topic is about home life and ask somebody or something where it is. It mainly deals with these key words and the students’ listening and speaking abilities would be developed. So it is very important for students to listen, speak, read and write .
The second part is analysis of students. Our students are in Grade4.They are active and curious, they are interested in new things. After learning English for one year, they have some basic listening and speaking abilities, so the teacher should pay more importance to the communication with them, providing them the chances of practicing the English language.
The third part is teaching and learning methods. I put “Let’s talk and Let’s learn together as the first period. I will use “Task-based teaching method”and so on.
Fourthly, I have three aims, knowledge aim, ability aim and the emotional aim.
1 Student can understand the four words:bedroom,study, living room , kitchen. And they can use the sentences: Is she/he in the… And the answer Yes/No.
2 By the end of the lesson, students can get more interests in learning English and develop their cooperation spirit. And then build the good habits.
3 Lastly ,ability aim, their listening and speaking ability will be improved. Students can use the new words and sentences to communicate in English class.
The fifth part is the key points and difficult points.
Key points:1 to make sure that students can listen, speak and recognize the four words.
2 Be able to use the sentences: Is she/he in the… And the answer Yes, she/he is. /No, she/he isn’t. in their daily life.
Difficult points:
The pronunciation of bedroom, study, kitchen.
As we all know, teaching aids are very important for class, so I’ll use video ,PPT and word cards.
Now, let’s come to the most important part of this lesson, the analysis of the teaching procedures.
Step 1warming-up and lead in.
After greeting with students. let’s enjoy a song about preposition to review what we have learned
The purpose is to attract students attention and warm-up. After that ,PPT shows a picture about find the things use the sentences“Where is… Is it… ” In this part, we can not only review the words we have learned but also lead in today’s topic.
Step 2 Presentation
1 I’ll give a picture of my home and introduce the room one by one. When I show the picture ,it’s easy to attract the attention of students.
2 Then I will teach the new words and practice them row by row.
3 Listen and repeat. I’ll ask students to try their best to imitate the pronunciations.
Step 3 Practice
1 To help the students master the new sentences better, I will use PPT to show some pictures, and guess and answer:“Is it cute ”This can help the students master the sentence structures naturally and easily. Lead in the dialogue .Watch the video about the dialogue in Let’s talk in part A.
2 Watch again and imitate the pronunciation. Circle the new words.
3 Use the pictures to remember the words and sentence.
Step 4 Production
After practice, I’ll show a girl in different places on the PPT. Use the sentences: Where is she Is she in the… And then turn back to the dialogue again, read in pairs.
The purpose is to use the sentence skillfully and naturally in daily life. Cooperative with others .
Step 5 Summary
After the students wonderful show time, let’s summarize what we have learned today together. And then learn one sentence: East or west, home is the best. And ask students to love home ,love family.
Step 6 Homework
Write the new words for four times. And read the dialogue after class.

At last, it is the teaching reflection .
