Nowadays, our phone is capable of just about anything through various apps. Here, we've rounded up some of the good apps for fitness.
Wakeout
Wakeout's attractive feature is that it's a fitness app that doesn't ask you to roll out a yoga mat, or clear a space. Instead, Wakeout will recommend exercises that can be done immediately, whether you're sitting or lying down. You can schedule workouts for the day, or relax before your bedtime.
Seven-7 Minute Workout
Seven-7 Minute Workout aims to give you the most benefit in just 7 minutes through a series of quick exercises that target specific areas of your body. There's no equipment need. It's free to use, but joining the 7 Club for $10 a month (or $60 a year) will give you access to a wider range of exercises, personal workout plans, and guidance from a personal trainer.
30 Day Fitness
30 Day Fitness provides hundreds of exercises with video instructions for each of the 30 days, plus a personal workout history, so you can monitor how far you've come. You get a week for free, but it'll cost you $5 a week for access after that.
Loóna
Can't rest your mind and body at night You're not alone, as many of us suffer from an inability to switch off at night. The custom of flying a piece of cloth high in the sky began more than 2,000 years ago in China. Since then, kites have been served in many fields, like doing scientific experiments, powering boats, taking pictures from the air and much more. In fact, kite-flying is a great way to clear the mind.
When Americans Kay and Larry Day found a store selling kites nearly 20 years ago, they decided to buy a few kites for their family. For fun, Larry bought one for himself. "He went out and flew it, and decided he needed to go back and get a better one," Kay remembered. Since then, she and her husband have loved kite-flying. They own many kites and plan trips around flying them. They also organize a kite-flying event each winter in their hometown in Iowa. "I'm at peace when I'm flying a kite," said Larry.
Nic O'Neill, president of the American Kitefliers Association, said that kite-flying could be done alone or with friends and family. Kites appeal to people who like to create works of art or to those who like to combine kite-flying with music. O'Neill said, "One of the reasons I love flying kites is that I have to risk trying and not succeeding. The best way to learn is to go out, undo the string(细绳) and let your kite fly. The perfect condition includes a nice steady wind and a place away from trees and buildings."
Grant Lovett began flying simple kites as a child, but moved on to costlier and more complex kites as an adult. Today, Lovett likes making his own kites. He builds them from strong, lightweight materials and products designed for sailboats. Lovett attends kite-making classes and looks for new models available on the Internet. He makes kites of different shapes and sizes because flying conditions can be greatly different. He also notes that experience makes a difference, and so does the weather and that he likes the happy feelings that he experiences when his kite moves through the sky. "It is really calming," he said.
1.What can we learn from the first paragraph
A.Kites have been used widely. B.Kites have developed gradually.
C.Kites have been designed differently. D.Kites have lost their popularity.
2.How does kite-flying make Larry feel
A.Excited. B.Hopeful. C.Peaceful. D.Amazed.
3.What do Nic O'Neill and Grant Lovett both pay attention to in kite-flying
A.The flying experience. B.The flying conditions.
C.The skills of making kites. D.The materials for making kites.
4.What is the best title for the text
A.Kite-Flying Is Fit for All Ages. B.Kite-Flying Gets More Popular.
C.Kite-Flying Is a Traditional Sport. D.Kite-Flying Gives a Lift to People.
C
Children used to be able to play freely, exploring and interacting with the natural world with little or no supervision(监督) by adults. They were free to invent games of their own. Nowadays, however, we control the lives of our children much more, giving them fewer chances for free play. Many children in England used to spend hours playing on their bikes and having all sorts of adventures, but now people think it's too dangerous. Some working families can't care for their children after school, so the children have to stay indoors or attend supervised after-school activities.
The result is that some children have little time to play and when they do, it's often spent in front of the television or computer. In the past, children in Brazil played a game of spinning(旋转) a large seed with a hole in it to create a scream-like noise. They rarely play this game nowadays.
Studies show that outdoor environments help all people by reducing tension and creating a general feeling of well-being. When children play in the open air, they are more likely to have positive feelings about each other.
Outdoor environments are also important for children's development of independence. When playing outside, children can gradually increase the distance from adults. Adults are then more willing to trust their children, an important element in confidence-building which improves the relationship between children and parents.
Outdoors, children have more chances to use all their senses. They have greater freedom not only to run and shout, but also to interact with the environment. Activities which may not be allowed indoors are perfectly acceptable outdoors; children are free to play messy games in the open air that just wouldn't be permitted in the home.
Children experience the natural environment differently from adults. Adults typically see nature as background to what they are doing, while for children it is a hands-on experience. The expensive toys and indoor educational games cannot substitute for the experience of direct interaction with nature. They cannot replace the sensation that a child's attention is suddenly caught by the sunlight through leaves or the gentle noise of water flowing by.
1.The author mentions a Brazilian game to show that _________.
A.it was common for children to invent games in the past
B.TV and computer are more popular than outdoor games
C.Brazilian children used to play outdoor games
D.children seldom play outdoors nowadays
2.How do adults react when their children become more independent
A.They don't control the lives of their children anymore.
B.They have more confidence in their children.
C.They want their children to stay indoors.
D.They experience less stress.
3.The underlined part "substitute for" in the last paragraph can be replaced by "_________".
A.take the place of B.be based on C.be used as D.get through
4.The author's purpose in writing the text is to ________.
A.introduce some outdoor games B.present a study on outdoor play
C.encourage people to interact more with nature D.advise parents to let children play outdoors more.
D
There is a story about a man who lost his legs and left arm in an accident. After the accident, only a finger and thumb on his right hand remained.
He was a brilliant, creative and educated man. He had gained a lot of experience while travelling around the world, so he became very depressed after this accident. He was afraid that he would spend the rest of his life suffering and would no longer be able to spend his life in a meaningful way. But then, he realised that he still had partial function of his right hand and could still write even though it was very difficult. An idea occurred to him, "Why not write to other people who need encouragement "
He wrote to the prison ministry about sending letters to the prisoners. The prison minister replied, "Writing to the prisoners is acceptable, but your letters will not be answered."
Filled with excitement, the man knew he could write his letters. He began sending one-way messages of love, hope, strength and encouragement. He wrote twice a week, testing his strength and ability to the limit. He poured his heart and soul into his words and shared his experience, sense of humour, optimism and faith.
It was difficult to write those letters, especially without hope of a reply. One day he received a letter from the prison ministry. It was a short note from the officer who monitored and checked the prison mail.
The letter said, "Please write on the best paper you can afford. Your letters are passed from cell to cell until they literally fall to pieces!"

B.some of the prisoners were not satisfied with his letters
C.the prisoners eagerly wanted to write back to the man
D.his letters were very popular among the prisoners

第二节 (满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
Steve was the most amazing person in all of Minneapolis, and he was my cousin. By the age of 19, Steve was a star baseball player at the University of Minnesota. I wanted to be exactly like him. So when Steve asked me to go with him on a spring fishing trip in northern Minnesota, I was excited!
After planning the trip, we gathered clothes and supplies, and began our great adventure. We reached the Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota by early evening. On our way to the campsite, Steve pointed to a small house faraway in one of the mountains, saying that it was the ranger station(护林站) where the forester worked. Finally, after a long walk, we reached the campsite and set up the camp as the sun was setting. Steve knew all the tricks of an experienced wilderness camper. After we gathered enough wood from the forest, he started the campfire using only stone and steel—no matches. For supper we feasted on freeze-dried beef, wild rice and pea soup. I ate greedily after all that work.
Tired enough, we climbed into our sleeping bags early and talked about our plans for fishing the next day. We were still talking quietly when a sudden north wind picked up; the temperature dropped and it began to snow. Steve found a way to increase the temperature inside the tent. He dragged a log from the forest to the opposite side of the campfire. Then he wrapped aluminum foil(铝箔) around the log. The heat from the fire reflected off the foil and into the tent. Soon images of lake fish were filling my dreams.
The snow had stopped, but some time later a powerful wind must have kicked up the flames of our dying fire. I was suddenly awakened by Steve. Our tent was on fire. Frightened, I ran out of the tent immediately. The tent collapsed(倒塌) with Steve inside. Without any thought of endangering myself, I reached into the burning tent and pulled him to the icy lake. Fortunately, we were not seriously hurt.
Paragraph 1:
Later, as we stood by the burning tent to keep warm, we considered our difficult situation. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
Suddenly, we heard a noise in the forest.

He also notes that experience makes a difference, and so does the weather”可知,Grant Lovett制作了不同形状和大小的风筝,因为放风筝的条件可能大不相同,他认为经验和天气对放风筝是有影响的。由此可知O'Neill和Grant Lovett都注重放风筝的条件。故选B。
4.答案:D
解析:主旨大意题。通读全文,结合第一段关键句“In fact, kite-flying is a great way to clear the mind.”

Dear Chris,
Glad to hear from you! I'm also excited to know T'ai Chi has been included in the UNESCO List of ICH, which means that this unique martial art gets global recognition.
Having been practiced for centuries, T'ai Chi combines slow movements, deep breathing and meditation, representing the traditional Chinese philosophy—harmony. Owing to these characters, one can strengthen the body, relieve the pressure and cultivate the mind through practicing T'ai Chi.
Therefore, I strongly recommend you have a go since you are attracted by it!
Looking forward to your reply!
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
Paragraph 1:
Later, as we stood by the burning tent to keep warm, we considered our difficult situation. Our campsite was in the deep of the forest, really far away from the highway. We were in the middle of nowhere, wearing only underwear, with our supplies burnt into ashes, including our cellphones. Even Steve was unsure what to do next. The only thing we could do was just sitting in the cold air and wondering how to get out of the forest.
Paragraph 2:
Suddenly, we heard a noise in the forest. Anxiously we listened and stared into the darkness. A jeep appeared. A forester had spotted the light from the fire and had come to have a check. We jumped into the warm vehicle and the forester drove us to the ranger station, where we were given clothes and were able to call our parents. Steve and I had many more camping adventures from then on, but it was on this trip that Steve began to treat me more like a friend rather than a younger cousin. Our friendship continues to this day.
