2. Look at the pictures and learn the short dialog. Make sure students can understand the usage of gerund.

4. 3b. Ask students to ask and answer the questions based on 3a. Then list some other living habits and discuss them.

B: It’s bad.

5. Finish 2. Match the sentences with the pictures. Check the answers.
6. Ask the students to look at the topic “I must ask him to give up smoking” and guess the meaning of “give up smoking”, then asks a question: “Is smoking good or not ”
7. Teacher introduces the synonymous word “stop”, which means “give up”.
8. Students listen to 1a and answer the questions.
