In recent days, a TV series called Awakening Age (《觉醒年代》) has become popular among young people. It is produced by National Radio and Television Administration (国家广播电视总局) to celebrate 100th birthday for the Communist Party of China (CPC中国共产党).
It bases on the real history in China from 1915-1921, a critical (决定性的) period for the birth of CPC. We all know that some major events happened in that period. One is New Culture Movement (新文化运动), the leaders of this movement are ambitious (热望的) people who were eager to change the darkness days into a bright future.
Let’s see what the TV series inspired the young generation of today.
I like it because I can feel the power of youth from the drama. In order to wake people up to the problems, many students gave speeches in the streets. They tried their best to fight for a better world. Also, they spread ideas of democracy (民主) and science no matter what troubles they would get into.
—George, 14
Among all the characters, I admire (欣赏) Chen Yannian the most. He has made great contributions (贡献) to the development of the CPC. Although his life was short — he only lived to the age of 29 — his spirit will always live in people’s hearts. The show encourages me to face difficulties in a brave and positive (积极的) way.
—David, 15
They are just my age, but they are bearing such great responsibility.
—Richard, 25

They believe it might be the world’s oldest flush toilet. Although the upper parts of it are nowhere to be found today, what’s left is still in good shape.

Their people worked very hard to make moon cakes for the Han people. Into each moon cake they put a little piece of paper. Then it was wrapped in waxed paper so that it would not be spoiled.
When the Han people received their moon cakes, they soon learned the time and date of the attack. The Mongols suspected nothing.

Exercise plays a very important role in a healthy lifestyle. But you may not have time or money to go to a gym on a regular basis(定期). The good news is that today’s technology lets you take fitness classes from the comfort of your home.
A quick Internet search will turn up thousands of online fitness classes. These classes let you listen to instructions and watch instructors demonstrate how to do exercises. You can watch videos on your phone, computer or tablet and do the exercises right where you are.
All you need is an Internet connection and a space large enough to move around in. Online fitness classes take a wide variety of forms. Some focus on stretches (伸展) and slow movements. Other classes involve fast aerobic activity (有氧运动),while others build muscle (肌肉) strength.
Some require equipment such as weights, but others use only your body. This means that you can choose the class you like. And you can try a different one whenever you like.
Some online fitness classes require a membership fee, but some are completely free. Anyone can post a fitness video on the Internet. Not everyone knows what they are doing.
So it is important to think about who is teaching the class. Try to find trainers who are certified (颁发证书)by an organization with a good reputation (信誉).
I tried some online fitness classes several years ago. The reason was simple: convenience. I could do a fitness class at any time of day. I didn’t need to travel to a gym and back, which saved me a lot of time. But being able to work out any time meant I kept putting it off. I’d do everything else first and then the day would be over. I’d never actually get around to exercising. Having to exercise at a fixed time means I have to put it on my schedule. So for me, scheduled classes such as those at a gym are helpful.

C.Choose the instructor who is certified by a good organization.

50.What can we learn from the passage
A.The writer encourages people to have online fitness classes.
B.You’d better choose the fitness classes according to your time.
C.It’s important to think about the trainers of fitness classes at the gym.
D.Scheduled classes at a gym are more helpful than online fitness classes.
Still playing basketball and soccer Why not try some new sports Cycling, but outdoors on city roads; surfing, but on the land; flying frisbee (飞盘), but with a group of people...New sports are becoming popular and are bringing more joy to us.
Surfskating was first seen in the US. It needs a type of skateboard that uses a special front track to give riders the feeling of surfing on land. Since this summer, the sport has become popular among all ages in China. It became a hot topic on many online platforms, such as Xiaohongshu and Sina Weibo. Surfskating needs a lot less equipment(装备) compared with many other sports.
Frisbee is becoming a social and popular game in China now. Men and women can play the sport together and there is no body contact(接触). The rules of frisbee are very easy. The players’ main goal is simply to catch the frisbee. The thrower is not allowed to move after throwing the frisbee out, while others with no frisbee in their hands can move as they want. In a team game, a player will try to get the frisbee and throw it to a teammate.
For many years, cyclists can be seen everywhere in Beijing. More than simply a means of transportation, it has become a popular relaxing culture. Cycling has changed from transportation to being a fashionable lifestyle in cities, which helps people explore the city easily. It is also an entrance ticket to a larger social circle. When talking about fishing in China, Jiang Tai Gong is very likely to be the first name that would come to people’s mind.
The story happened in the late years of the Shang dynasty. Jiang Tai Gong once served the king of Shang dynasty, and began to hate him for tyranny from the bottom of heart. Jiang Tai Gong was a genius in military tactics and government management. He lived near the Weihe River about 3,000 years ago. The area was the feudal estate of Count Ji Chang. Jiang Tai Gong knew Ji Chang was very ambitious, so he hoped to get Ji’s attention.
He often went fishing at the Weihe River, but he would fish in an unusual way. He hung a straight fishhook, without bait, three feet above the water. Lookers-on were curious about it, and Jiang Tai Gong explained, “I would like to take honestly rather than to ask for with the knees down. I fish not for the fish but for the nobility (高贵).” Later words traveled to Count Ji. He sent a soldier to invite him. Jiang Tai Gong ignored the solider, going on with fishing, and was talking to himself, “Fishing, fishing, no fish has been hooked. A shrimp is up to mischief (恶作剧).” The soldier reported this back to Ji Chang, who became more interested in this man. Then, Count Ji sent an official to invite him. It didn’t work. Finally Ji Chang realized Jiang may be a genius, so he went to invite Jiang Tai Gong himself. Jiang saw his sincerity and honesty and finally decided to work for him. In the end, Jiang Tai Gong helped Count Ji and his offspring build a great power and build Zhou dynasty — a great dynasty.
Today, people use the old idiom There are always fish willing to be caught by angler Jiang Taigong to describe someone who willingly falls in a trap or does something no matter what the result is. Here’s a new warning from health experts: Sitting is deadly. Scientists are increasingly warning that sitting for long periods-even if you also exercise from time to time-could be bad for your health. And it doesn’t matter where the sitting takes place. Several studies suggest people who spend most of their days sitting are more likely to be fat, have a heart attack or even die.
In an article published this week in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, Elin Ekblom-Bak suggested that scientists have to rethink how they define physical activity in order to draw more attention to the dangers of sitting. “After four hours of sitting, the body starts to send harmful signals,” said Ekblom-Bak. She explained that genes regulating the amount of glucose and fat in the body start to shut down.
Even for people who exercise, spending long periods of time sitting at a desk is still harmful. Tim Armstrong, a physical activity expert at the World Health Organization, said it is better for those people to exercise more times across the day rather than in a single bout.
Still, in a study published in 2012 that tracked more than 17,000 Canadians for about a dozen years, researchers found people who sat more had a higher death risk, whether or not they exercised. “We don’t have enough evidence yet to say how much sitting is bad,” said Peter Katzmarzyk of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center, who led the Canadian study. “But it seems the more you can get up from sitting, the better.”
Experts said more research is needed to find out how much sitting is dangerous, and what might be possible to offset those influence. “People should keep exercising because that has a lot of benefits,” Ekblom-Bak said. “But when they’re in the office, they should try to stop sitting as often as possible,” she said.
58.The new warning from health experts is to ________.
A.encourage people to do more exercise B.ask people not to sit in the same place

Do you know what people were like in ancient China And what was considered the standard for a handsome man back then You may find the answer in the Terracotta Army in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.
If you have already visited this cultural site, you would have noticed that the terracotta soldiers have broad foreheads, small eyes. They and their war horses together made up a great terracotta army.
The story goes back to the Warring States Period. At that time, China was divided into several states. The states were often at war with one another. About 2,200 years ago, Ying Zheng, king of the Qin Dynasty, was finally able to unify(统一) all of the states. Later, he ordered people to build his tomb(墓穴) and a terracotta army to guard it. The workers used clay(黏土) to make the terracotta soldiers and horses. The “guarding” army was built in the model and style of the Qin army.
In 1974, locals in Xi’an discovered the site of the tomb after trying to dig wells in the area. The whole site of the tomb covers about 20,000 square meters. So far, more than 8,000 terracotta soldiers and horses have been found. People have also found thousands of bronze weapons(青铜兵器) at the site. What is it like to exercise in space Simple things can be harder in microgravity (微重力), while difficult tasks might suddenly be a breeze. A video on Tuesday shows that Zhai Zhigang, one of the astronauts of Shenzhou ⅩⅢ space -ship, is practising tai chi with flowing movements (流畅的动作).
The three astronauts Zhai Zhigang, WangYaping and Ye Guangfu have been in space for about two months since they began their six-month mission (任务) to build the space station on October16th. Chinese people have long been wondering what really goes on inside the space station. While people were still surprised by Wang Yaping’s zero-gravity hairstyle, Zhai showed his “flying” skill and was clearly very good at it.
Zhai was not the first who practiced tai chi in spaceship. The tradition of Chinese astronauts practising tai chi started in 2012 when the country’s Shenzhou Ⅸ astronaut Liu Yang first did so in space and called the experience comfortable. Before returning from the Shenzhou Ⅻ mission in September, astronaut Nie Haisheng also practised tai chi in the Tianhe core module during an Earth-space video call with HongKong youths.
For space travellers, doing exercise is important. They must exercise to counter (抵消) the gravity-free conditions as the experience of “muscle and bone loss (肌肉和骨质流失)” in space will influence their health and ability to work in the long term.
Besides doing tai chi, Chinese astronauts also play table tennis or ride a bike and run on a treadmill (踏步机) to help train their breathing.

79.The fourth paragraph mainly introduces ________.
A.the reason how gravity takes place
B.the exercise astronauts do in spaceship
C.the importance of having strong muscles
D.the necessity (必要性) of doing exercise in space
80.What can we learn from the passage
A.The purpose of the Shenzhou ⅩⅢ mission isn't mentioned.
B.Nie Haisheng found the practice of doing tai chi very comfortable.
C.Chinese people are curious (好奇的) about the astronauts’ life in space.
D.Zhai zhigang is the first astronaut who practised tai chi in space in China.
When was the last time you went for a walk Where did you go What was it like It’s fairly obvious that walking is good for you, but just how good
Later research has shown that walking is a great form of exercise. It’s perfect for staying healthy and keeping your weight under control. It can also prevent heart disease and reduce the risk of cancer and diabetes (糖尿病). And walking can improve your mood, relieve (缓解) stress and even fight unhappiness.

“I live in the city and often walk home instead of taking the underground. I also walk up and down the escalators for a bit of exercise.” Declan Smith.
“London is a great place to walk. I can walk from my home to where I work right through Regent’s Park, with its tall, majestic trees.” Simon Tressel.
“I’ve been getting ready for the MoonWalk, which takes place in May. It’s a walk-a-thon through London to raise money for breast cancer(乳腺癌). As part of the training, I’ve been going for long, fast walks every three days.” Dave Symmonds.
