教材分析: 本模块重点学习用“can't”说明能力的不足。本单元是第七模块的第一单元,课文情境是:Sam、Amy和Lingling一起看电视,电视里正在播放介绍狗帮助人(盲人、聋人和消防员)的节目。看完节目后,Sam问Ms Smart家里可不可以养狗,Ms Smart遗憾地说不可以,但她给大家端来了晚餐—热狗。Lingling听到这个名字吓了一跳,Sam告诉她热狗只不过是香肠和面包,于是大家都笑了起来。本单元主要求学生能运用“can't”说明能力的不足;任务是开展认识动物能力的比赛。
教学目标: 1.掌握单词:useful,show,presenter,blind,deaf,hear,her,fire,firefighter(s),sausage(s),hot dog(s). 掌握句子:This man is blind. He can’t see. This girl is deaf. She can’t hear. 2.学生能正确运用“can't”说明能力的不足。 3.学生能通过学习培养学生听、说、读、写和灵活运用语言的能力。 4.培养学生对动物的热爱;树立学生的爱心意识。乐于感知并积极尝试使用英语。
教学重点: 理解并运用词汇:useful,blind,deaf,hear,her。 理解并运用句型: This man is blind. He can’t see. This girl is deaf. She can’t hear. 教学难点: 学生能正确理解并运用“can”说明能力以及运用“can't”说明能力的不足。

Step 4: Activity 2 Look and say: Q: What are they doing -They’re watching a TV show. Watch & answer: Q: What’s the TV show about -It’s about dogs. (Dogs are useful. Why are they useful ) (Picture 1)Look and say: This man is blind. He can’t see.This dog helps him. (Picture 2)Look and say: This girl is deaf. She can’t hear.This dog helps her. (Picture 3) Read&answer: Q1:What happened last week? - Last week, there was a fire. Q2:Who helped the firefighters? - This dog helped the firefighters. Read&answer: Q1:Can Sam and Amy have a dog -No, they can’t. Q2:Can they have a hot dog -Yes, they can. Q3:Are hot dogs real dogs?-No,they aren’t. They’re sausages and bread. Step 5. Practise Talk about the abilities of animals. (5 minutes to finish the paper and then let some students to share.) Step 6. Homework 1. Read the text twice. 2. Talk about the abilities of animals with your family.
