Step 1: Warm up and presentation

T: Look, who is he
Ss: He is Zoom.
T: That’s right. Zoom has many good friends. Let’s see them.
T: Zoom’s friends are monkey, cat, dog, rabbit and Zip.
3. Presentation
T: One of the friends has trouble these days. Who is it Let’s make a guess.

S1: It is the rabbit.
T: Great. You did a good job. That is the rabbit. And let’s see what trouble it has.
(先引入今天story中的故事人物,用Zoom的好朋友进行介绍出场,再用猜猜看的方式,来复习人物的介绍,来带出今天的故事主角rabbit)
Step 2: Story time
Before reading
T: The rabbit likes the turnips very much. But the turnip is very big. The rabbit can’t pull it up. So he is very upset.
T: Luckily, the rabbit has many friends. So he said to the friends: “ Please help me.”
T: All of the friends come and work together. They pull, pull and pull.
T: What happened in the end Can they finally pull the big turnip up
T: Let’s read for more details.
(阅读前先铺垫一下,制造一些悬念,让学生带着疑问去读这个文章,快速找到答案。)
While reading
T: Now let’s open the book and turn to page 31. Read the story quickly. And try to find out the answer to the question. Can they finally pull the big turnip up
(这时候可以让学生打开书本,重复一下需要回答的问题,让学生带着问题去快速找到有用的信息。)
S1: Yes, they pull it up.
T: Great. They pull it up and say Hooray.
T: Let’s listen to the tape and read the story after the tape. Try to imitate it.
(让学生跟着录音读,并模仿其中的语音语调。进入到精读阶段)
After reading
T: Let’s role play this story. One as the rabbit, one as Zoom, one as cat, one as dog, one as Zip and one as monkey. We can have groups PK. Let’s see which group is the best.
(小组进行PK,选学生进行角色扮演朗读,尽可能地去还原故事场景,最后评选出最棒的一组演员,可以适当给予奖励)
