①Lots and lots of people live in towns and cities. Cities are great because you can get what you need when you need it and life there is really convenient but they can also be dirty, smelly and crowded. That is why we need more flowers and trees in our cities to make them better places to live.
②Trees can help the environment by cleaning the air and they help to get rid of harmful dust and pollution. Scientific research shows that one tree can remove more than ten kilograms of carbon dioxide out of our air every year. This helps stop carbon dioxide going into the Earth's atmosphere and changing our climate.
③If we can stop damaging the climate, we can build more cities. It would be good for animals and plants too because climate change is making them become endangered. But if we destroy our planet, we cannot build another one.
④If there are more parks and trees and flowers in our cities, people will go out more. Being outdoors is good for our physical and mental health. One survey found that time spent enjoying nature can help people overcome stress and depression. If there is nowhere to go out, people spend their time in their homes watching the television or staring at screens and this is bad for us.
⑤The more we help nature, the more it helps us. We need to stop building up our cities and make some space for grass and trees and flowers because it would be good for the planet, and good for everyone on the planet.
23.The writer introduces his point of view (观点) by_________in Para 1.

24.If we plant one thousand trees in our neighborhood, that means the trees can remove over_________kilograms of carbon dioxide when they grow big.
A.100 B.1000 C.10000 D.100000

A.Trees can hardly help get rid of pollution. B.Climate change makes animals live longer.
C.We can easily build another planet for more cities. D.If we feel stressed, it's good to spend time enjoying nature.
