教材分析
What: 本篇课文有4篇邮件组成,属于说明文。1,2篇成为好主人的礼仪。3,4篇为一组,如何成为好客人的礼仪。
Why: 第一篇,我叫黎明 我是一个北京九年级学生,我的澳大利亚笔友要来北京,我要邀请他到我家,我要如何当一个好主人?第3篇,我叫董方,我在参观俄罗斯,我的一个同班同学邀请我去他家,引出了我如何成为一个好客人?
How: 如何成为一个好主人:1,客人来之前打扫房间,2为客人开门。3,为客人提供饮食。4,为客人服务。5,不开电视。 如何成为一个好客人:1,去时带礼物。2,遵守主人家的规则。3不喧哗。4主动帮助准备饭菜。5,写感谢信。这里建议都使用了祈使句,肯定用Do 否定用Don’t do。动词不定式和动名词短语做主语是常见的两个句式。
二.教学目标
1掌握新单词和短语
能够谈论如何成为一个好主人和好客人。
意识到好的礼仪的重要性,培养跨文化交际能力,热爱我们的祖国。
三、重点难点
1 认识礼貌的重要性和必要性。
2 了解如何给出建议成为好的主人和好的客人。
四 教学过程(依据教学目标设计教学活动)
(一)导入新课
1 .Greetings
2. Ask two questions: what are “manners” &What is difference between good manners and bad manners
3. Show some pictures of good manners and bad manners. Ask the students to tell if it is good or bad.
4. T: Li Ming invites his Australian pen pal for dinner at his home, but he doesn’t know how to be a good host. Let’s help him

设计意图:拆分单词,让学生从词源学方面了解单词,减少死记硬背。联想让学生从多个维度了解单词,帮助记忆。讲练结合,帮助学生快速理解并记忆单词。

设计意图:立足学生已有的知识经验,通过问答,可以使学生在短时间内了解将要阅读的材料的有关信息,激活有关话题的背景知识。

设计意图:学生阅读Mr. Manner给Li Ming的建议,完成表格的填写,使学生明白招待客人的礼貌做法。遵循“词不离句”的原则,在语境中渗透生词和短语的意思。

设计意图:通过细读,找出两封回信中,Mr. Manner 给Li Ming和 Dong Fang的建议。利用思维导图的形式归纳,梳理文章结构,应该做的和不应该做的进行对比,加深对文本的理解。

Tip: You can thank him for the kind things he did for you.
You can also mention some of the cultural differences you experienced in his home
设计意图:写作。假设学生是Dong Fang, 做客俄国家庭后,给主人写信表示感谢,运用本课所学的做好的主人和做好的客人的建议和做法,解决实际问题,达到迁移运用的目的。

设计意图:通过思考交流,升华文章主题,Manners make the man! 举止见人品!
